As a very regular customer for Coconuts on Jet Yod Rd for 2.5 years I can highly recommend it for a meal, drink and live music. Service, friendliness and staff attentiveness are also at a premium. In a town with a dearth of non-Thai food options it has a wide range of such at very reasonable prices. My favourites include... More

Reading other reviews, I'm most surprised to see a couple of negative ones. My golfing mates who live in Chiang mai often come here when in town & speak very highly. Chiang rai for years has struggled with good food, but Coconut bar is definitely the exception! I had roast chicken dinner 1 night & was really pleased. 185bt as... More

Nice little bar in Jet Rot road. Inexpensive food and drink. They do a good variety of food but Kevin the landlord specializes in Indian food and has got a good reputation with the locals.

Three holidays in Chiang Rai last year with a lot of it spent here. Like the rest of Jet Yod Rd, how busy it is depends on time of year/ weather etc. If you're a solo traveller, with friends or a couple you always get a friendly welcome and the Indian, Thai and English food is all nice. Don't understand... More

This place was okay. I chose it as a fun place based on other t.a. reviews. The food was so-so, the atmoshere bland and unless you want to watch an obscure sports channel or play pool, give it a miss

Just had a yellow curry here and it was delicious!! They play a great mix of modern easy listening music. The pool table was entertaining for my son and husband. Service was good and wifi worked well. Thanks.

Yes the place is a bit pricey but the breakfast is quite good, free coffee refills, the wifi is fast and reliable and we actually found the staff (gail?) to be quite friendly.

I understand that bars need to make a profit but this bar's mark-ups are unreasonable. It costs almost the same to drink at the Dusit, which is a 4 star hotel! The food is the usual rubbish you find in Thai bars; cheap meat and tasteless sauce. The barmaid was very chatty with her friends, but was very cold to... More

Came here on our last night, and wish we hadn't. I ordered burger which came with burnt fries and was made with gristley meat. My partner ordered curry which contained rubbery meat and tasted of rancid coconut milk. Girl behind the bar did not look up from her phone, even when we were complaining about the food. It makes sense... More

Walking around lost after taxi driver took us to the wrong bar. Stopped and welcomed by the owner , Kevin , who made us feel very welcomed. We spend most nights at this bar as food was very good , reasonably priced and staff were very friendly. Well done Kevin !
