An ok meal, not brilliant, but no frills.

easy to find on the corner of PlaHolyothin and Sanpanard alley, there's a menu in English, which isn't that extensive and tends to be Thai/Chinese rather than northern Thai specific. Large Change beer at 80 THB. Dishes come in small or large (soups in small, medium, large). As a couple we shared... read more

We arrived around 8.30pm and the restaurant was half full but the staff seemed a mixture of tired, flustered and some disinterested. We ordered food-two simple dishes. After 15 minutes waiting we asked if our food was coming. My girlfriend (she is Thai) had her food delivered without the rice she ordered about 9.10pm. After another 10 minutes with no more... More

The menu is huge. |I was surprised that we received our tasty food in such a short time. We enjoyed it so much we went twice as it was right around the corner of our guest house. We really like the broad noodles which were stir fried with pork..so delicious. Prices are very fair and service is genuine.

This family run restaurant offers the most friendly service we experienced in Thailand! The food tastes great, the vegetables are all fresh. It is a great place to enjoy your evenings in Chiang Rai and get in contact with locals and travelers. Definitely worth a visit!!

Visited Chiang Rai for one day, and found this restaurant in the corner of our alley street. Looks ordinary restaurant but seen some feedback from internet, we decided to try. There's common Chinese and Thai food, and you can ask for the menu. Price is relatively cheap (~ 2-4 USD/person) and delicious food. We ordered the garlic fish (200 Bath... More

Visited Muang Thong at midnight after umpteen beers at Cat Bar. You cannot miss this large and basic eating joint at the junction of Sanpanard Rd. and Phaholyothin Rd. Seemed to be a local favorite, and a relief to have a 24/7 option in an otherwise slept town. Tried only their Pork Fried Rice and loved it. Would surely visit... More

From the outside it looks like every ordinary Asian restaurant with an explosion of TL based light. But this restaurant is a diamond. It seems to be run by a family (grandparents, parents, children, etc.) and it feels like sitting in the family's living room (big television). Besides a lot of locals 'visiting' the family with is a good sign.... More

We stayed at Baan Malai and so this restaurant is very accessible to us at the junction. It is advertised as a 24 hr restaurant and it seems to be very popular with the tourist and locals. The food tastes quite average but it is very reasonable in terms of price. There is a big television here where one can... More

This is a crossover of Thai and Chinese flavours right on Phaholyothin Rd. in central Chiang Rai. The place was always full after 6-7pm and you might have to wait for a table, as it's very popular with locals and tourists alike. The place itself is simple, sporting a typical "grandma"-like atmosphere with old ladies, husbands and and children serving... More
