very nice setting, very good singers, but the food ! my god it is just awful, not good at all and overpriced for what you get was very disappointed the first time we went there a couple of years ago and thought we would give another try but it was just as bad, pity definitely not recommended to eat there... Nice food. Cozy setting. Various cuisine - Norwegian, Thai, European and even Russian :) Great live music singing jazz. Definitely worth trying.

I have eaten at Max's place more than a dozen times over 9 years. The last recent experience was for New year's eve and a 500 Baht per head Norwegain buffet .... marvellous with pork loin, salmon, pate, hams, breads, soup and much more ... and never running out too. Off the regular menu, the 'Max Cha-Am pizza' is pretty... More

We went for dinner at Max since we heard it was a very good restaurant. We did however the misstake to order thaifood and not western food, that may have been better. The fried shrimp cakes we wanted, was not available. The shrimps we ordered instead was lovely, the snapper in curry was dry and not very nice at all.

This is a norwegian restaurant but you will be surprised with the choices. There is a good range of thai foods, and they also have an Indian Kitchen. I have tried the indian food and its very good. I am a fan of the spaghetti and meatballs there and usually head to Max when I feel like Pasta. They have... More

We only went for a drink and asked for a cappuccino and iced coffee. The cappuccino was black coffee with a squirt of cream on top ( lucky I am not Italian). They could not supply the iced coffee as the man who makes them had just gone out!!

Every now and then you need some western food and a quick pasta is always welcome. I had the blue cheese pasta and it was very good indeed - my daughter had the spag bol (aussie term0 and it was quite nice as well

When I asked the waitress to wipe the dirty bannister next to my daughter she looked at me like I was a freak. Place needs a scrub and the waitresses need some training.

if you want Norwegian-like food, this is a place to get it. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere with a view of the beach road. I think the meatballs are too big, and not as authentic as they could be. Their milkshakes enough though.
