Best restaurant in Khao Lak!!

We had a wonderful evening at Hill Tribes. It was well worth the walk up from the beach. The food was authentic Thai, much nicer than in the more touristy areas and great value. The staff were great too. Would definitely go back!

I went to that restaurant many times and I enjoyed the food all the times. I liked best "Massaman Chicken mixed with Prowns" :-) One time I got ice fritter ... I never seen or eat this before, it was delicious .... it was Arawy / in Thai :-) ... I will add a picture later :-) The owner made... More

We were staying a short walk away and past the pretty front of the restaurant as we walked to the beach so decided to try it for dinner. It was so amazing we went back the next night! We have been fortunate enough to travel to Thailand many times and know what a good thai tastes like and Hill Tribe... More

My fiancé and I visited about 1830 and we were the only customers there. We sat at the cushions which had a very authentic feel. You lay back on the triangle and relax. Service was very good (although it was just us). I'd recommend the Dragon Balls which were divine! It had pork in it. Mains were nice. Portion sizes... More

We were recommended the Hill Tribe by the owner of Smile Restaurant (no1 on tripadvisor). We went twice because the food was of a very high standard and reasonably priced. We were disappointed with some of the restaurants on the main drag in Khoa Lak - but I must say you will not be disappointed with the food or service... More

Went down to hill tribe after reading the reviews. Service was fantastic and the chef took the time to come out and meet us. Food was really fresh and tasty. Ordered the lemon chicken after seeing it on the chefs suggestions and wasn't disappointed! Really nice restaurant.

Visited here after recommendation from friends - it had the same menu as all the other restaurants with laminated pages with pictures and looked to be similarly priced. That said they did offer a special of the catch that day and I had probably the nicest prawn curry of my visit to Thailand. Would recommend a visit.

We tried this restaurant after reading the reviews, and it did not disappoint. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the menu varied with dishes from the North of Thailand. The food was excellent, really tasty and portions larger than many places we'd eaten. Service was prompt and after the meal the chef came out to ask what we thought... More

We found Hill Tribe when we visited Khao Lak two years ago and enjoyed the flamed Thai red whiskey prawns so wanted to go back. This restaurant is run by Sung and his wife from North Thailand which means you find different things on the menu from other restaurants. On our first visit this time we both had the prawns,... Made the effort to eat at this restaurant after reading reviews. However although the service was good one of our dishes was far too hot despite trying to avoid fearsome chillis.
