I reviewed this restaurant in 2013, but my recent trip has prompted me to rave again. They have, hands down, the best Buffalo Wings to be found anywhere outside of Buffalo, NY. I am originally from Buffalo, so I do not say this lightly. The H.O.P.'s wings are simply the best. Also- the french fries are incredible- the owner uses... More

We popped into The Hop on our latest business trip and had a great night. I feel it deserved another review. Again we had great service, great food and got talking to the owners who recognized us from previous trips (nearly a year ago). What has changed, well the upholstery has been replaced and they have introduced Pulled Pork into... More

great night, pizza and beer like being back home, have to say kept the homesickness at bay for a bit, great wood oven pizza and although we didn't partake the table next to us said the wings were amazing, will definitely be going back great food friendly service and nice selection of beer

This is my favourite bar in Taiwan. The owners are great--very welcoming, chatty, cool, and helpful. The wings are made with the same recipe as THE original buffalo wings from Buffalo, and I promise you will not find better on Taiwan, maybe Asia. They also have a good eclectic beer selection. I'll be back for sure.

A great bar run by brilliant staff. The owner is from Buffalo, NY and bring provides some great food including his own Buffalo Wings. The Pizzas are the star attraction and they are cooked in a clay oven at the front of the building. The bar is small and cosy with an amazing atmosphere and live music on some nights.... More

This place was suggested to me by one of my students. I found the service friendly and prompt. The pizza was great--those old brick ovens make a difference for sure. The owner and his wife came over to say hello and ensured, as foreigners, we had all that we needed. It was a great evening all around, thanks also to... More

The pizza was so good I wanted the owners to think about opening a branch down south. Sadly it sounds like it won't happen. They have their own authentic pizza oven and weren't stingy with the toppings. Also the beer selection was great and it was cold without having to add ice like the locals do. The best part was... Being from New York, I often get cravings for pizza. I've tried a handful of places around Taoyuan and Taipei and nothing quite satisfied me. Now that I found The H.O.P. the search for good pizza in Taiwan has ended. I'm pretty much a traditionalist when it comes to pizza, so I get a pepperoni pizza and wash it down... More

This was my fifth visit to Taiwan and I had given up hope of ever finding good pizza. I had the unimaginable luck of stumbling into the H.O.P. in Tauyuan in the late afternoon. A sign out front promised popcorn chicken and pizza and I was hungry. I was absolutely delighted with the popcorn chicken- hot and crispy outside, juicy... More

There's good pizza to be had in Asia, but the sauce is what so often steers it off course. This is classic American style pizza, just the way it's made on the east coast of the US, cooked well in a brick oven, with a sauce that's just the right mixture of tang and a hint of spice. Also tried... More
