I live in Kaohsiung for 5 years, this restaurant got the most delicious chicago pizza in town ! ( not saying that other restaurant has chicago pizza, this is about the only one ..) but they really know what they are doing, thick cheese and really favorable pesto and tomato sauce !! Half an hour is too long to wait for appetizers. And so is an hour. Booked a table of 16, but it seemed the priority was on the tables with the white people. After 90 minutes we gave up and said we were leaving and weren't paying. The owner, and American, came up and said the service was so slow... More

With the swing in prices for restaurants in Kaohsiung I was planning on spending quit a bit for the dinner. American food isn't always reasonable here. I was pleasantly surprised at the reasonable prices and the variety of food on the menu. The décor was inviting and the staffs English was very good. In our group of four everyone ordered... More

they have a huge portion so i can share with my friends, they also have lots of foods choices. i was ordering roasted ribs, pizza (i forgot what i ordered), and chips with salsa sauce. From this restaurant i can taste the real taste of New Orleans (at least that's also what my foreign friend said, never really been to... More

Living in Kaohsiung for a few months, my fellow travelers and I decided to hit up the legend that is The Bayou. Being first time international travelers, running into Cindy was great! Not only is she very approachable and friendly, the food absolutely lives up to the rumors. Over the length of our trip we collectively had atleast 10 different... More

This restaurant is owned by a Texan lady, who is a joy to meet. They offer a great wine selection, which is not so easy to find in Kaohsiung, and the owner knows her stuff about it too. The food consists of a wide selection from burgers, to 'cajun-esque,' to pizza, to vegetarian, and more. My friend doesn't recommend getting... More

I am a local in Kaohsiung. My friends and I love this restaurant which is run by an american. They serve louisianan food. The food is really delicious and great value for the money. The decoration is warming and familial, the service is efficient. Every time we go to this restaurant, we order the home-made thick pizza, the fried chicken... More

Having lived in Louisiana for several years, I am typically disappointed at the attempts at cajun and creole food that I have come across in my travels. In this particular case, I was not. In fact I just handed a stack of cards to the guest relations chap at my hotel and told him "send people here." This town has... More

We had a table of 18. Every meal ordered was wonderful. I personally loved the deep dish veggie pizza, the calzone was wonderful, the Cajun creole delicious. Not to mention the beer and wine selections were generous. Great place to go and a staple of ours... We have been in Kaohsiung 5 months now..

As an expat living in Taiwan, I admittedly get a western food craving from time to time. Indeed, it is to The Bayou that we head when that happens, for they've--in our opinion--got the best eats in town. If you are a budget traveler looking for cheap food, you should know that you may have to go deeper in your... More
