Tex-Mex food that tastes straight from the USA.

I grew up in Southern California, so I know USA-style Mexican food. I'm not pretending this is street-vendor tacos or your abuela's carne asada... but Dos Tacos doesn't pretend to be some perfectly 'authentic' Mexico City Mexican food, and it shouldn't. Was looking for a place to eat dinner and stumbled upon this beauty nestled away in Hualien. That had to have been the best Chimichanga I've ever eaten! They make everything there and it is packed with fresh taste and a great atmosphere! I anticipate returning. You rock, Dos Tacos!

It's hard to find anything remotely similar to Mexican or Tex-Mex food when you travel in Asia. If it is, it is most likely slathered in processed cheeses, substituting Tabasco for home made salsa with a conservative side of something resembling Guacamole (but probably Wasabi) and Asian style white rice....and let's not talk about the aversion to sour cream in... I'm back in Taiwan doing my mandatory military service this year, and this place has been preserving my sanity. The food is always great, and the mixed drinks do an excellent job of taking the edge off the summer heat. I inevitably find myself here on my days off, sipping on a margarita and shooting the breeze with the owner.... More

First off, if you're in Taiwan and you want Mexican food then you deserve to eat this bland tasteless inauthentic poor excuse for Mexican food. The food was not good, it reminded me of American fast food. I ordered tacos and the meat was very bland and tasteless, not enough seasoning. The tortilla was very dry and had a bad... More

The food was not great, it was fine, but nothing above that. We had a soft taco and a burrito, they tasted exactly the same. The rice was bland, the beans were okay, the chicken was tasteless, the salsa was fine. We didn't expect much from a Mexican restaurant in Taiwan, so basically we got what we expected. The one... Good portion sizes. We had a small nachos that would have been a meal for one and also a taco salad and pork taco. Everything was prepared with fresh ingredients and very tasty. In addition we sampled some of the top-shelf tequilas that Jason had on offer. The Patron Anejo and the 1800 were particularly noteworthy. If you need a... More

By far, the best Mexican restaurant I've found in Taiwan. Been living here for 11 years and am always on the lookout for Mexican, as it's my favorite cuisine. After a plethora of disappointments, I finally found Dos Tacos! Great, welcoming atmosphere with friendly and outgoing staff and owners, Dos Tacos is better than just its food, which is great.... I am no food expert, just a lover of new interesting meals and cuisines. My experience at Dos Tacos was very pleasant. Nice and comfy atmosphere, delicious food, and good service. Staff can speak decent English, and like all the other modern restaurants they provide English menu with reasonable price. Good quality Mexican food, I recommend (smiley face, people)

After two weeks in Taiwan, I decided to try non-Chinese cuisine. The food was delicious and thanks to the owners, the place has a unique atmosphere that makes you want to visit that restaurant again. Dos Tacos is definitely a must-visit place in Hualien
