Lords finally has some competition!

We have been to Negombo a few times now and on this visit pretty much exhausted the Tripadvisors' selections. The best of which was the Black Coral by some margin too. We had a delicious dinner at The black coral. The lobster tail starter, sea food gnocchi and the chicken were truly delicious. Very good service and nice wine. I definitely recommend having dinner there!

We arrived at the Jetwing Negombo after a long flight and booked a table in their a la carte restaurant, the Black Coral. The value for money was excellent. I had a sea food platter that included lobster tail for £8! It was superbly cooked. The staff were very caring and attentive. As this was the first night of our... More

The best and one of the most memorable fine dining we had during our trip. The service and food was worth the cost. Must visit in Negombo if you want to splurge and enjoy some great sea food and candle light.

Given the location and beach-front nature of Negombo, it makes absolute sense to stay there for a few nights. When do you, make sure you have dinner at the Black Coral. While the menu does not offer native Sri Lankan dishes, it has an inspired al la carté menu that will blow your socks off. The service is impeccable, as... More

Had a fantastic meal in the Black Coral. Food is as you'd expect from a top restaurant. Yes it's more expensive, but compered to a uk equivalent, it's great value for money. Excellent service, complementary homemade bread, good wine list and great food......Highly reccomended.

The restaurant was first class. Food first class would put some restaurants in London to shame. The choice of food on the menu was excellent, and had quite a few vegetarian choices. The presentation was wonderfully artistic but not over the top. The maitre de was fantastic, his team, and indeed himself were professional and friendly and made the experience... More

Was looking to indulge myself one night and chose Black Coral and was not disappointed. Lobster bisque was delicious and main course of jumbo prawns and salmon are a must try. Service was also superb, unlike some other restaurants who discriminate Asians and favors Caucasian diners, Black Coral's service was attentive and yet not intrusive.

I decided I wanted to dine somewhere fancy after ten days of cafeteria food in the Maldives and this restaurant is PERFECTION!!!! Menu so inexpensive I thought I had died and gone to heaven!!! Ordered the sea bass with potatoes and some kind of grilled veggies!!!! My entree was a mere $10!!!!In Los Angeles that same entree would have cost... More

The service and welcome We received was the highlight of the evening. The atmosphere is subdued and classy without being stuffy. It was a relaxed meal as there were only four tables occupied in the restaurant. The waiters had time to really take care of us and even joke with the kids. The food was good and a Nice change...
