Good breakfast/lunch place in an historic building

This is a great brunch place, although it gets very crowded around noon. The omelettes and french toast are delicious, and the specials honoring David Bowie were excellent.

My favorite brunch spot in Albany, NY. Be prepared to wait on a Sunday, this is a very popular brunch spot. Extremely reasonable and perfect portion size. They make unique breakfast sandwiches, both sweet and savory options. The pepper-jack hollandaise is my favorite sauce, and they always cook the eggs perfectly. The food is very good and the servers are... More

There recently for breakfast and the food and coffee was outstanding. They do great things with corn bread and other standard breakfast items with interesting combinations (eggs, bacon and cheese sauce on great tasting corn bread, for example). Their sandwich selections are innovative and worth stopping by for on my way back to the office so that i can enjoy... More

As you walk down Central Ave, you may not notice this lovely little cafe, that in fact, is a good sized cafe. The food is all fresh and homemade. There are lots for the vegetarian as well as the carnivore. I had brunch and had the Phoenix Rising.- Their signature black bean burger topped with perfectly poached eggs, avocado, &... More

I visited the Cafe with my mom a few hours before my cousin's wedding in town. The outdoor eatery behind the gates is so cozy and intimate while allowing for patrons to enjoy the pleasant fall temps (while they lasted!). The waiter was very attentive to our experience which was greatly appreciated. My mom ordered a Lobster Bisque and I... More

Perfect soup and sandwiches lunch on a cool autumn day. The cup of soup was more like a bowl, and sandwiches were generous and tasty with quality ingredients.

We wouldn't have minded the 40 min wait had the food been amazing but, it wasn't. All 3 of us had omelets and they were average at best. The cheese wasn't melted and the veggies weren't cooked well. On a positive note, they were careful with the order for my daughter who has a food allergy.

Brunch at the Iron Gate. The food was much more appealing as described on the menu than it was on the plate. The sweet potato hash benedict was nothing more than two poached eggs with tasteless hollandaise over lukewarm, mushy sweet potato home fries. The accompanying toast was so cold that the butter that had been smeared on it before... More

The food was quick and excellent. I had the Megan wrap which was awesome. Their bloody Mary's are good, and mild. The staff was very friendly and attentive.
