Have enjoyed lunch at the Iron Gate over the last few years. Sandwiches are good, fresh. They will make any combination or adjustments. Soups are good. You order and pick up food at the counter upon entering, and there is seating in the back (or outside in good weather). Indoor seating area is dull and drab. Staff are nice enough.... More

This is a great location for an intimate brunch spot. Whether you are seated inside or out, the atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed. The patrons run the gambit from just-out-of-church to coming back from an all-night bar crawl. I do know Iron Gate does more than just Brunch, but it is the main reason that I go. On my most... More

My wife and I shared the lemon ricotta and strawberry pancakes. They were ok. Our son ordered the Elvis omelet and said he liked it. The setting is great. The service was great! Our server was Kim D and she was very sweet! The food was average though. The flavored coffee, snicker doodle, wasn't that flavorful.

A charming spot for a light brunch or for soups and sandwiches. I enjoy the secluded outdoor café but there is indoor seating as well. It is less than a 5 minute walk from the State Capitol and easy to miss unless you look for the "iron gate." The Gate has an appealing selection of omelets. I chose the combination... More

Hi, We had brunch at the Iron Gate, something we've wanted to do for quite some time. It was a lovely day and we were seated in their front garden which was very very nice. Our waitress was very pleasant, but her service was quite slow; others around us who had been seated after us had their orders taken and... More

Great little cafe in a sweet nook off the main road. All commented on how it felt like a nyc or boston cafe. The service was very efficient and kind. The food fantastic. The lemon dill hollandaise is ridiculously good. We ended up dunking our home fries in it too. Mimosas were very good as well as the champagne and... More

For at least the past three years Iron Gate Cafe has delivered lunch to my office. Today they randomly decided that despite that we had our order in by their 11am deadline and that we had met their minimum order, they are no longer willing to travel the less than three miles to deliver to our office. The guy on... More

Washington avenue is a busy city street, but this cute cafe is tucked away in a small garden that makes you feel like you've been transported someplace else. Popular spot for brunch.

I was redirected to this place by a patron at another Sunday brunch place that had a 45 min wait. I almost didn't see it bc it is disguised behind the iron gates but I was very happy I found it. I had a special of lemon ricotta pancakes and they were melt in my mouth delicious and delicate. The... More
