Always a good experience!

It was the third time we had dinner there and it's excellent! We were a party of ten people and the waiter as usual was very prompt. The service is perfect and the food is always very good as the price! The decor is very classic with some old pictures. it feels like you're back in the 60s

We once thought that Jacks was very close to the best around. Our recent visit confirmed the rumors that Jacks is no longer on the top of most lists. Service continues to be excellent however, and the ombiance is elegant and traditional. The food is just average and the menu is a bit limited. My steak Diane was very tender... More

From the moment we walked into the restaurant we were treated like royalty. Amazing service, all around. The food was excellent, and we enjoyed everything we ordered. The dining room is so elegant, a beautiful setting for a night out.

GREAT OYSTERS, as one would expect in an oyster house. No disappointment here. We had the blue points and had to restrain ourselves from gorging on dozens of them. The rest of the menu is just as good including liver which is often hard to find on a fine restaurant menu, or any menu. I loved the house cabernet, Jack's... More

This establishment first opened in 1913 is a great place with a old time ambiance but well maintained. The menu is great with a mix of seafood and steaks including excellent salads. The wait staff were very professional and attentive and very knowledgeable about the items on the menu. the portions were sizable and the price while a tad high... More

I had such high expectations since the restaurant is "historic". The menu was pretty old and tired. Its exactly what you would expect at a steak house. Didn't see a pork chop on the menu though, which I would have considered to be a staple of a steak house. They were out of the desert we wanted and got a... More

Found this gem of an old-style restaurant tucked away a handful of blocks from the State Legislature building and the State Empire Plaza. High quality steak/seafood house and reasonably moderate prices for a place of this kind. Put another way, move this restaurant to New York City, and prices would easily be 10-20% higher. If you can get a table... More

No trip to New York State's Capital is not complete without a stop at Jack's Oyster House. It has been a Family owned tradition for over 100 years. As the restaurant is decorated with old photos of Historic Albany For lunch, it is the haunt of many New York State politicians and downtown business men and women . Dinner is... More

If you are looking for good food, in a classic atmosphere, close to everything in downtown, you cannot go wrong with Jacks. It is always consistent and have yet to have a bad meal or bad service.
