This place used to be a wonderful place to dine. It was charming, and the food was wonderful with friendly waiters. Now, they serve mediocre food not worth the money, along with rude service and a long wait. Not worth the money.

I am a baby boomer who grew up on Jack's. Granted, with the abundance of interesting and eclectic restaurants now available in the area, we don't patronize Jack's as often as we once did. I know that the menu has been more than "tweaked" over the years in attempts to stay competitive. Yet even with those updates and changes, Jack's... More

Visited: 6/4/2014 After all of the reviews and even a colleague's recommendation, we decided this is where we would dine after an all day conference and a quick nap. I made reservations online prior to arriving town the night before. I don't even know where to begin. The waitress was unfriendly and seemed like she didn't like either us or... More

Jack's has been in business for over 100 years and there's a reason for that, it is the best restaurant in Albany. We recently had a Birthday celebration diner there and have had several other special occasion diners at Jack's as well as other busness and provate diners and every time we feel like we are the only customers because... We had a very enjoyable meal after the Siena graduation. The steak and crabcakes were very good. We were pleased with our entire experience.

I took my husband here for his 40th bday dinner. It was fairly busy, i was happy I made a reservation. They sat us in a corner along side a wall right next to a large party. Definitely very crammed in there. Service was great but I feel the food is overpriced. My husband ordered the lobster risotto. The lobster... More

We had dinner here to celebrate a recent college graduation. The menu is extensive but not particularly a steakhouse or seafood house either. The meals were not as good as they were when we ate here two years ago, The steaks were done to perfection but some of the side dishes were cold. The service seemed to be a bit... More

Have eaten there several times for business meetings. I find the food to be very average but very overpriced. By choice I would not go there. Don't understand where this place gets this kind of reputation from.

The food and the service at Jack's has always been superb. When choosing a dining option, however, price has to be a part of the equation. From my perspective there are better values with equally good food and service. This restaurant has priced itself out of my comfort zone.

There may be better restaurants in the Capital District, but Jack's always tries to please. The room, service and food make it worth the price.
