A favorite of Albany and a favorite of mine. Service is #1 here with attention to each person's preference. Ask about the special of the day you just will not go wrong.

Our tour stopped in Albany for one night at the Hilton on Lodge St.. We asked at the desk for a steak place close-by. They sent us to Jack's. We found it a pleasant walk from the hotel. Service was top-draw, and our waiter, "Leon", was more then we could have asked for. Food was pricey, but very good. Two... More

I wrote a review last July and wanted to say that the menu now does include live 2 1/2 lb lobsters once again. One of my favorite Jack dishes are the scallops. I remember 50 years ago they served the most delicious bay scallops with potatoes au gratin and peas on a platter. It was divine. A year or so... More

Recommended by the hotel staff at 74 State which is next door. I had the lobster risotto and my daughter had chicken rigatoni ala vodka. The food was delicious. Portions were on the large side so we took home the leftovers. Too full for dessert. Maybe next time. The service was excellent.

Our first server sat us in a terrible spot not far from the kitchen and even closer to the service table, that smelled terrible. Our second server was lovely and very professional, although when he separated the two dishes we shared,... More

My husband and I decided to celebrate our anniversary at Jack's on Saturday, August 16th. Jack's is a classic steak and seafood restaurant. The decor is old school: dark wood interior black and white tile floor, white table cloths, and you receive white glove service. We were warmly greeted and promptly seated at our table. The service at Jack's is... More
