EXCELLENT!

This was the BEST place we ate in 2.5 weeks of traveling from South Dakota to New York! Try their seafood! The clam chowder is to die for!

Jack's is an old line seafood house that's been around for years. The interior has dark wood paneling and the menu virtually never changes. Because of its proximity to the State Capitol Building, it's a favorite haunt for State Assembly and Senate members for lunch or a late afternoon drink. One never knows whom you'll see there. Jack's knows how... More

it was not our intention to dine here. Our hotel steered us to The Parrish Pub on Broadway. We walked in, and the music was so loud that we turned around and left, and walked around the corner to Jacks. Service was top notch--thank you, Glen. The margaritas were refreshing and delicious. Loved the calamari appetizer, cooked perfectly. The rigatoni... More

Have wanted to try this Capitol area instutuion since being a student here in the '80's. Finally was back for a visit and could afford a "high" end steakhouse. Shame that Jack's does not live up to the reputation. Service was good. Food was mediocre. My strip steak came with mashed potatoes and some overcooked vegetables. Some sort of a... More

Had an amazing celebratory dinner. The oyster and Maine lobster were to die for, as was the red berry sorbet. Great wine too. Excellent and friendly service !

This restaurant hasn't changed in years, and that's what makes it so wonderful. Had a wonderful lunch, with liver and onions! That's not on a lot of menus and it was delicious. And delicious Bloody Mary's. The owner was there and welcomed us, since my friend had been there before, although not for a while. He said that if I... More

We once thought that Jacks was very close to the best around. Our recent visit confirmed the rumors that Jacks is no longer on the top of most lists. Service continues to be excellent however, and the ombiance is elegant and traditional. The food is just average and the menu is a bit limited. My steak Diane was very tender... More

From the moment we walked into the restaurant we were treated like royalty. Amazing service, all around. The food was excellent, and we enjoyed everything we ordered. The dining room is so elegant, a beautiful setting for a night out.

GREAT OYSTERS, as one would expect in an oyster house. No disappointment here. We had the blue points and had to restrain ourselves from gorging on dozens of them. The rest of the menu is just as good including liver which is often hard to find on a fine restaurant menu, or any menu. I loved the house cabernet, Jack's... More
