Very good experience

A friend had a Groupon for the Sitar; my friend had the chicken tandoori which was 4 chicken legs/thighs and I had the special which consisted of Tandoori Chicken, Tandoori Shrimp, Sheek Kabob, Reshmi Kabab, Chicken Pillao, Vegetable Curry, and Beef Curry & Nan. Although it was a lot of food, I ate... read more

My husband and I stopped in for dinner last evening and enjoyed a delicious meal. We shared a plate of special nan, chicken curry and aloo bangain. The portions were plentiful and flavors we're perfectly blended. The service was superior, very attentive and polite. We sat for awhile talking and were never rushed or felt as though we were overstaying... More

It's pathetic. Worse Indian food ever I had. Expensive and tasteless. I was very disappointed and will never visit this place again.

I've been going to The Sitar for years and it never lets me down. It is the best Indian restaurant in the area and judging by the often busy dining room, others agree with me about that. The food is tasty, provided in good portions and served promptly. The atmosphere is comfortable - not too formal or too casual. The... More

Was the food good. It was ok. If you like Indian food then you will probably like it more than I did. Beer selection = fail. Not a good selection at all. Portion size for the price = fail. It was really expensive for the small amount of lamb I had. The service was very good though. I will give... More

You know the feeling. You're driving down the road and a familiar sensation hits. Your stomach growls. You're craving Indian food, and nothing else will satisfy that urge. But where to find it? Well, friends, look no further than this jewel of the Capital Region, Sitar. Yes, the food can be costly. But it is always delicious and the portions... More

We ordered Indian bread, Palak Paneer, Vegetable curry for toGo by phone call and the order was ready in 10 minutes. The curries tasted good. Garlic Naan was great. Chapathis could have been better. Very close proximity to lot of hotels and isn't a long wait at all. The only thing is I wish they had packed some cutlery. They... More

We go for the Sunday buffet because of the great variety of dishes available for sampling. Prepared with care, these dishes offer an authentic, home cooked flavor. Sitar's tandoori items are moist and delicious instead of dry. Chicken, lamb, and fish in spiced curries, vegetarian biryani rice dishes, baskets of vegetable-stuffed naan, and much more. The decor is pleasant featuring... More

This was my first visit to Sitar in many years, and it was as good today as I had remembered it. My daughter and I enjoyed our appetizer of pakora, as well as our order of naan, which was warm, fresh & delicious. Our entrees were great, and one can order the degree of heat for any dish. I like... More
