Very Good

I came here on a date recently and had the chicken parmigiana. It was very good but not the best I've ever had, probably not worth the price.

We visited Albany last weekend...quick getaway for my birthday. I have a good friend that lives in the area, and she recommended Cafe Capriccio...and joined us for dinner. My boyfriend and I arrived early, so we had a drink at the bar while waiting for her, and for our reservation. Great wine list, and the bartender made some recommendations and... More

We stopped here late while driving through the area. We were not very impressed. Maybe we ordered wrong I had the squid ink pasta that just didn't taste right. The wine selection by the glass was poor. A loud rude table was next to us and the bread was stale. No need to return.

The homemade pasta, the dolce calzone, the wine, and the appetizers were all phenomenal. Most importantly, the wait staff are knowledgeable, never pushy, and make you feel as welcome as one would at a good friends house. Having eaten at several Italian restaurants in the area, including the old school Italian restaurants in Schenectady, I know this place is a... More

Went during restaurant week. 2 of us had fish with an olive tapenade which was very good. The third person had the pork which had a lot of fat and was fairly bland. She was quite disappointed. The waitress seemed pretty much uninterested, could not suggest wine and could not answer a few questions about the menu which was limited... More

I've lived in downtown Albany for 8 years and only recently made it to Cafe Capriccio. I was put off by the uninspired exterior, but my spouse and I had our socks blown off by the warm interior, the packed rooms and the excellent food. Excellent eggplant and ravioli appetizers, followed by pork osso buco and fish special. Great wine... More

A friend of mine was visiting from out of town. I told him about restaurant week and he asked for a recommendation. I suggested Café Capriccio, since I have never been but read good reviews about it. The door to get into the restaurant was not clearly marked. There were four doors. You can find the entrance behind door #2... More

Enjoyed a fantastic meal with my teenage daughter while touring colleges. All their Mains have an optional smaller portion price. With so many good choices, we ordered three "meals" to share between the two of us. 1 Pizza, awesome crust and the perfect amount of cheese. 1/2 pesto, and 1 Ravioli. All so very good, but then we treated ourselves... More

Visited on a Monday night, place was practically empty but had to wait a good 10 minutes while the hostess took reservations by telephone calls... Minor flaw in the system that could be easily addressed by management. Once seated, waiter/bartender was very prompt. Room was loud - I think ceiling in the bar room is low. The food was good...
