Looking for a place to eat, we stumbled onto this one. Had lots of cars in the lot and the place was packed. The food is basic Americana and wonderful pies and other baked goods, lots of them.

We thought Grandma's sounded great for a Sunday breakfast on our way out of town. The decor of the restaurant definitely fits the name. It reminds me of an old parlor in my great great great grandmother's house. Honestly, it was a bit creepy to me but whatever. The food was ok. Nothing spectacular and the prices seemed a bit... More

My family and I stopped in for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. Although there was a tour bus parked outside, there was still plenty of tables. The service is still up to par and the children's menu is unique and definitely got my daughter's attention. Their menu is Disney/Mickey Mouse themed and the meals are named after the primary Disney... More

My parents moved up to Albany about 15 years ago. We often ate there when I visited them. I did look forward to eating there every time. All the food was good, tasted homemade, and the pies were great. Last weekend I brought my 4year old son up to visit his Grandma and we decided to visit Grandma's restaurant. I... More

This was our second time there, last year and this year about the same time and neither time was I really satisfied with the food or the price. Service was just okay. The reason we went back the second time was because the person we had gone to visit likes Grandma, but the other 8 of us weren't that happy... More

When we look for places to eat we always look for restaurants that have lots of cars parked there. That always means good food ! The building looked like its been there for 50 years and when we entered we were greeted by smells of fresh pies. There were lots of waitresses serving older folks, ( that's means food is... More

What else is there to say? I've been all over the world, on all the continents. I've eaten in restaurants in New York City, Paris, Taipei, Nairobi, and many other cities. I would choose this little restaurant in Albany, New York, over all of them. The food is always fresh from scratch. It doesn't come prepackaged or freeze dried. They... More

This place was good enough that we came once each for breakfast, lunch, and dinner during a week long stay in Albany. The pot roast was recommended by our first waitress ,and it was delicious, with mashed potatoes, vegetables, and a good little salad. The honey mustard dressing was one of the best salad dressings I've ever tasted. Their lasagna... More

We stopped here twice for breakfast while visiting Albany. Our breakfast was excellent both times. They have really good omelettes, waffles and muffins. Their pies especially looked delicious. We unfortunately didn't get back dinner to try some.
