Quick service, but not overbearing. You cannot go wrong with their steak or seafood. It is easy to locate and has lots of parking, and I have never had to have a reservation

Came here for dinner with my fiancé, brother and sister-in-law. Everyone was very pleased with their meals and our server was extremely friendly and attentive. I ordered the baked scallop combo with prime sirloin. The scallops were so amazing I might just have to get a full platter of them next time! Cooked perfectly in wine, butter and garlic. Sirloin... Huge restaurant, fair prices and an awesome salad bar make this a great destination for families and bargain-conscious diners. The restaurant is huge and takes reservations which is a must especially on weekends. Good selection of entrees. It's always bustling and you'll be making lots of trips to the salad bar! Enjoy.

The Barnsider has been an Albany staple since, I believe, the dawn of time. It's very pretty outside, and a little cavernous inside. It's like a dressed-up college dinning hall. I've been there several times because it is a favorite of my step daughter's and her fiancé. I don't eat red meat so I cannot attest to the steak. My... More

Never had a bad meal at the Barnsider, great place to go, even when it is not your birthday. Great specials that night.

My husband and I have eaten steak all over the globe, and the sirloin for two at the Barnsider is by far and away our favorite. After our last trip (which included steak at two very pricey steakhouse restaurants, one a 5 star) we couldn't wait to get back and have a really succulent and delicious one! My advice: build... We went as a group of 12 over this past weekend and were appalled at the service and quality of the food. I had the Beef wellington (28.95) which included a burnt mushroom duxelle, a undercooked phyllo dough shell that was burnt on the bottom, and a 5 oz piece of tenderloin (not prime grade), with hardly enough demi glace... Our server, David, and our additional waitstaff were very personable and attentive to our needs. Haddock stuffed with crabmeat was excellent! Salad bar good especially the sharp cheddar and fresh Italian bread. Unfortunately no room for dessert. Would recommend highly and I was glad to have had a nice dining experience.

It a fine place for a family style steak dinner. Nothing spectacular, but I enjoyed it. Location is good.

Cool steak knives but very dull. Small steak, big price. If you want to take Momma somewhere nice. Well then don't take her here. But hey at least I paid a lot. Recommended really, come on!
