I called ahead for a Reservation, on a Weds (8/27), for a party of 3-4 (kid decided not to go) and it was my sister's birthday so the woman on the phone mentioned the free dessert with candle to boot and I said yes, bring one of those out after our meal, as a surprise. We arrived at 7pm, and... More

Celebrated our anniversary today, meal was fantastic, especially the seafood sampler for two! Prime rib was done perfect and tasted great. Special mention to the wait staff, outstanding job!

I've eaten here a few times and it is underwhelming. While I have had good meals here chances are you'll leave feeling that you didn't get what you paid for. The menu isn't very exciting and the decor is average. The salad bar is fine. Service has been consistent and we have never had problems in that area. Now on... More

Went based on locals' enthusiastic recommendations; nearly left when we went in (Dan O's right - smells like a bathroom); should have trusted our instincts and other reviewers and went elsewhere. But... it was close to our hotel and we were tired. Two of us had the Hawkeye - they liked it (not *wowed*); one had a different steak and... More

Walk in the front door and you are greeted with the smell of urinal cakes. mmmm! Why did we stay? Out of town on business and too tired to look at options, so we forged on. We sat by the bar in an area that seems to have so much wind from the ceiling fans, that it felt like a... More

The Hawkeye steak sandwich is our favorite. Perfect slices of premium sirloin served on garlic toast, accompanied with a square of corn bread and choice of baked potato, rice pilaf, French fries or cole slaw. Yummy.

I returned to the area for a class reunion and was looking forward to a nice dinner. Ate in the grill room, had the Iowa Hawkeye sandwich, ordered it medium rare. It arrived well done, and just did not live up to the restaurant of my memories from ten years ago.

I can't believe some of the positive reviews I'm reading about this restaurant. I just ate dinner here on a business trip and it was a complete flop. The entrees are all round $30, which would suggest a fairly decent meal. I had the stuffed mushroom appetizer, salad bar, and rib eye steak. The mushrooms had no flavor whatsoever, the... More

We were there as a family celebrating a birthday there were there were 10 of us the people were very efficient and friendly . The food was good but could have been hotter several people said their food was only warm including mine. Prices were comparable to other restaurants in the area.all in all it gets a b rating. We... I've always considered this restaurant a cut or so above average in the Capital District. Have been a customer for over 30-years. Still enjoy every visit. Salad bar is always fresh. Steaks and seafood are normally very well prepared. Must admit that the quality of the prime rib has gone down hill - much fattier and less tasty than in... More
