8 on scale of 10 (10 being in Japan)

Had a group of 20+ dropped in no reservations. Wait staff seated us just like it was a simple request. Had the sushi platter and it was excellent. Would not rate it over many other finer sushi places but would rate it as a 8 on 10 scale. Sake was adequate wished I had not seen them dispense... read more

This restaurant is officially in Latham, NY, just north of Albany, NY and near Albany Airport. The place has traditional Japanese decor on the outside with a unique atmosphere inside. Something you don't normally see in Japanese restaurants but definitely adds to the experience. We stopped in for hibachi dinner and the food was plentiful and well prepared. I had... More

havent been for over a year...popped in for lunch...sushi rolls seemed smaller..less "extravagantly" presented but nonetheless...delicious, fresh with many special rolls..selecting four only was a challenge..wish they delivered to broader area ( Guilderland)...local options pretty limited..

If you're after the simple, purist Japanese, this isn't the place for you - though they could probably do that too. This is the works - creative, combined, crazy comestibles! From the abundant and wisely-chosen drinks list, to the 'sushi boat for 8', there's plenty to explore. Much more than one visit will allow. All great quality, fresh flavours, and... More

My son, wife and I ate there today. Tony cooked for us. He was funny and polite. Did a great job putting on a show for us. The fried rice they make is the best I ever had. I would highly recommend it.

My family and I always look forward to making at least one visit to Koto when I'm in town for a visit. It's a destination meal for us, and the food and atmosphere never disappoint. If you're looking for comfort food on a cold night, the garlic noodle is filling and savory. Their mango roll is so good that I... More

Save yourself a frustrating experience and go to Samaurai or any other Japanese hibachi restaurant in the Capital District (several to choose from). We had a hibachi table reservation at Koto for 4 people at 7pm tonight. We arrived at 7 exactly then proceeded to wait in the jam packed entrance for 45 minutes before getting totally fed up and... If you're looking for Hibachi, then this is a good place to go. The chef's are fun, engaging, and grill some good food. They will do some extra things on your birthday and provide a special dessert as well (in addition to the obligatory singing). For sushi or other Asian, though, I'd consider going elsewhere as the prices are very... More

Went for a friend Birthday. We ate at the habachi. The chef was good and funny. The food was good. The only thing I didn't like was the food wasn't ready all together. Like he cooked the rice first by the time the chicken and steak was done we were done eating the rice. A bit over priced for what... More

We arrived on a Fri eve late, the place was jammed. Got a table pretty quickly though. Average miso soup, good sushi. A little on the expensive side for sushi. Wonderful dessert selection, rare for a Japanese restaurant. Many items were French influenced. Recommended!
