Koto is one of my two or three favorite restaurants in the Capital District. The tea is the best in the area and the food is always reliably excellent. I once asked if they would prepare something that was not on the menu and after excusing herself to check with the chef, the waitress came back smiling and said the... More

Sushi is always the best! Highly recommend the Salmon Carpaccio!! (out of this world). Service is second to none, atmosphere is good, people are friendly and most of all it is a family friendly restaurant:) Visit KOTO when in the Capital Region!

I tried a roll today (Sashimi is my niche) "spicy girl". Oooweee! YUMMERS! If you're in the capital district and are looking for good Japanese,... More

I had the opportunuity to eat at Koto at the beginning of March while stopping off briefly in Albany. I was with 4 colleagues, all of whom ordered the shrimp and I stuck to the steak. The food was very good and the atmosphere pretty average. The staff was helpful and pleasant. It was a little difficult to converse around... More

not great, not bad…typical Japanese steakhouse fare…seems the Americanization of global cuisine is doing nothing but making it bland

This is where we go for most birthday celebrations I always get the chicken teriyaki, the kids get the steak. It is always a very entertaining experience and a very enjoyable time. We always get our birthday picture which comes complimentary. Thanks for another great birthday party. My daughter loves the virgin strawberry drinks - a little expensive but always... More

Great food, and walking distance to the Desmond hotel. Cooking on a grill right in front of you is nice, and the show they do is quite amassing

Went to Koto a couple nights ago, it was only ok, the Hibachi tables seemed close together, the other people we shared the hibachi with were very friendly the chef was entertaining but the food was nothing special, average at best. Not nearly as good as one we went to in Hilton Head SC.

We came here and had some very decent sushi for the area. We also enjoyed their beer selection. The hibacchis looked clean and the interior was very well adorned. Nice koi pond.
