There are lots of sushi places around, but it's a revelation to find one where the fish is extremely fresh. Not sure if the key is being busy enough to do a high volume, or if it's the buying process, but Mr. Fuji has it. The fish is always very fresh tasting. If you've never been surprised by fish that... I'm no connoisseur of sushi but I do know what I like. The fish was fresh and nicely presented, each with a distant flavor unlike some other sushi places where the fish all tastes the same. I like the fact that the waitress identified each piece when she brought the plate. My wife and daughter had different rolls which they... More

The manager always greets us with smile and occasionally treats us to an appetizer. We have NEVER felt this special anywhere else. The setting is eclectic and modern. While not "gourmet", the is really good and the prices are certainly competitive. We go back every 6-8 weeks and often bring guests.

I was here on business, and ordered the sushi/sashimi lunch. The service wasnt really impressive, and I was left with an empty glass from my beverage for a good 20 minutes. Although, the sushi was good..not special...but good. I may try another place in Albany next time.

That's all I have to say about it. Utterly unexciting standard sushi. Also no bar, though some wine, sake, and beer choices. Honestly, with both Hana's and Sushi Tei under 5 minutes away, I really don't see any reason to go back.

I was very happy with Mr. Fuji Sushi. I never dined in but ordered take out at least 3 times a week. I had almost every roll on the menu and everything was very good. I called around the same time and the person that took the call recognized my name/voice and would sometimes even know my order. I would... More

Mr. Fuji is pretty much like many other average Japanese restaurants in the Capital District although it seems like it tries to be more. First the highlight. Definitely the sushi. We had spicy Maki combination plate which came with miso soup and salad for $15. Lots of pieces of really good sushi for decent price. Also they have Hana sparkling... More

Had the sashimi deluxe. The fish was all okay, but that's about it. Didn't have a single wow moment. The fish was also served slightly too cold which I'm sure took away from the taste. Also had the Tuna Tataki appetizer which was similarly okay, not great.

I tried this restaurant on a whim and was delightfully pleased - food was excellent, service superb without being intrusive. Definitely a place I'll return!
