Really great for date night

The Wine Bar is an excellent place for small, intimate dining. It's in a dimly-lit basement space that seems to wrap around into little nooks. Order a bottle of wine and a few plates to share. Also, the rear terrace is very nice on warm summer nights. The menu is eclectic and everything is well... read more

Lower level on a cute brownstone type area of Albany. Cozy spot. Wines are interesting and plenty to choose from. Reasonable $9/glass. Description of food sounds delicious, however, the results were 50/50. Lamb shanks were disappointing. Had to fight to get them off the bone. My friend liked the salmon, Another had the chicken cassoulet. Both said they were good.... More

What a unique place. Little brick rooms, very cozy and romantic with fireplaces. Food and service were fine. Prices were...pricey. I was a but shocked at portion sizes, although it was good quality.

We had six of us, all staying just up the street at Morgan State House, just a short walk away. Sit at the table outside in the rear, although the basement spaces look cozy. Our server was great, she remembered six wine by the glass choices without writing anything down! We decided to attack the starter portion of the menu... More

The small, charming bistro was a recommended by the staff at the Morgan State House. It is below street level with a wine cellar vibe and has a rear terrace. The food is simply sublime. I started with the grilled asparagus with mushroom, fried egg and grana padano shavings followed by the lamb chops, with slow baked eggplant and what... More

My family lives in the country outside of Albany and we decided to head to the "big city" for dinner the last time we were visiting. The nice thing about the Albany area is the highways are in pretty good shape and the traffic is rarely bad. On the way to the restaurant, you do pass through some run-down areas... More

I think this place can be great. For appetizers we had: escargot (cooked nicely, but too much lemon and can use more garlic), crab cakes (flavor was great, can use less breading). For main course we had: pork shoulder (there was too much sweet sauce), and snapper. We had a cheesecake for dessert which was good. The presentation for all... More

I was staying in Albany on business and wanted a nice glass of wine with a decent meal. The nearby inn that I had stayed, had recommended the Bistro that I could walk to. It is in the basement of a building so you have to look for the sign. They have an outdoor dining patio that I recommend on... More

I had dinner here while visiting in Albany the week of the birthday. The weather was great and we were able to get a table in the garden. We were seated promptly. Our server Kyle and all the staff were personable, looked fashionably professional and had a good knowledge of the food and wine. We shared the crab cake starter,... More

I brought my husband here for his birthday dinner and we had a fabulous meal. It was early on a Tuesday so we had the place almost to ourselves. Our table was great...a secluded little "cave" for two. Atmosphere is quiet and romantic. Dinner was fantastic...I have a gluten allergy and everything they prepared was delicious. I had the clams...
