The sandwiches, soups and salads are good, but the baked goods are incredible. They're gigantic, sweet, and sinful. The salads are huge, but the bread is so good I recommend getting a sandwich. The portions are large, but you pay for it. I used to think this place was expensive, but seeing how much Panera's prices have gone up recently,... More

Dear SMSG10: Thank you for choosing Bountiful Bread. I am thrilled with this compliment about our products. Also, it's always nice to hear guest feedback that our prices are pretty much in line with our competitors...we are all doing what we can to keep prices low while the supply costs for food keep increasing. Thanks, and we look forward to... More

Thought this place was kind of neat, we pulled into the plaza looking for some breakfast and liked the looks of this place. Had some nice breakfast options also had options for the Gluten Free folks. I went with the Quiche which was tasty and my partner did the Breakfast Sandwich which she quite enjoyed. I don't do coffee but... More

Dear David, Thanks for choosing Bountiful Bread. So glad you enjoyed Bountiful, the quiche and the egg sandwich. "Bottom of carafe coffee" is never good. We are always brewing fresh, so please let us know next time, and we'd be happy to brew a fresh pot for you. And thank you for noticing the passion of my crew members. We... More

Stopped in for lunch while visiting nearby. Had broccoli cheddar soup and the sandwich special which was a turkey reuben. Soup came with bread and sandwich was large and came with a pickle and chips so this was WAY too much to eat. Everything was delicious and service was great but it was expensive.

Dear Barbara, Thank you for the four star review. So glad to hear that service and food were great. I am sorry that you found Bountiful Bread to be expensive. We endeavor to keep prices as low as feasible, but our commitment to local produce, freshly baked bread, and a scratch philosophy does contribute to higher costs than some of... More

There is a good selection of sandwiches, all made from scratch. Like another reviewer I had the mozzarella and tomato with pesto on a baguette, and it was excellent. Coming from Boston, I had no problem with the pricing. The assistants were very friendly. The restaurant is, however, very austere with no atmosphere, and the chairs aren't that comfortable

Dear MS06: Thank you for choosing Bountiful Bread on your recent visit to Albany. I am glad to hear that our personnel were friendly and accommodating. Sorry to hear that you feel the space is austere, but that is something we're addressing with local artists. Check back when you're in town next. You may find the atmosphere has warmed up... More

This establishment is a really attractive, upscale, bakery cafe. For Lunch I enjoyed a fresh mozzarella and tomato with pesto on a baguette. All ingredients were fresh and flavorful. Did not give five stars for following two reasons: 1. somewhat pricey for this category of food; 2. limited vegetarian options. For a more meat protein oriented individual this of course... More

Dear Yuga1: Thanks for visiting Bountiful Bread. We appreciate the business and the good review. Since we really want all guests to rate their visit with 5 stars, I will address your two points: 1. Our prices are higher than fast food places because we make everything from scratch, we are highly selective about the produce and meat we serve,... More

This place has great salads and sandwiches and is Panera-style with ordering up front and then picking up your order. However, it is WAY better than Panera, in quality of food, portion size, price, and atmosphere. The only downside is that it takes a long time to get your food during lunch-time (its packed).

Dear Aubrey: Thank you. Thank you! That's exactly what we're going for! In terms of the super busy lunch, we created an express register (the first one as you walk through the door) for those guests who use online ordering or call-in orders to expedite service. If you're pressed for time, feel free to use the service so you can... More

This used to be my go to lunch place. Pleasant, homey atmosphere and my favorite salad for a reasonable price. I went at least once a week, for over 5 years, and some of the long time staff knew me by name and order. I loved Bountiful Bread. Then they remodeled. I can't justify paying the new price for my... Dear Julie G: I am sorry to read your review. We made an effort to enhance the guest experience by remodeling the space and bring a more contemporary look and feel to the restaurant. Regarding the salads, we haven't changed any of the recipes, but we did come up in price a little. As you are no doubt aware, the... More

As a first-time diner here, I am a pleased customer. The menu has a good variety of baked items & pastries and breakfast & lunch options. I ordered the three-cheese quiche & tomato pesto soup with a breadstick. Both were tasty. My friend ordered an egg & cheese sandwich and it was big and looked good, but I'd have wanted... More

We had lunch there for the second time while in the area on business. They had remodeled to a much more austere, modernistic look that not only takes away the atmosphere, but puts the waiting line surprisingly close to fresh bread. Some odd tables, and quite a few big tables that you have to share when you may not want... More

Dear Al-Sue-Maine: Thanks for visiting Bountiful Bread. I am sorry you did not love the renovations, but you can see the reasons for the renovation in one of my previous responses. Bland, washed out, sterile. That's the new Bountiful Bread. They took a place that needed some new furniture and a good clean up and just wrecked the interior. The food is still fine, service is not much faster and prices are on the upper end for what you get, but it is strictly a 'to go' place from now on.

Dear Keenefleet: Thank you for your review. I am sorry that you don't like the renovation. We felt that we needed to address three things with our renovation: 1)reorganize the que/order scenario to reduce guest confusion, 2)create a dedicated express register for phone and online order pickups and grab 'n go convenience, 3) build a vestibule/airlock to keep our guests...
