We didn't even know that this place had a Sunday buffet. We just wandered in to eat Mexican food. It had been quite some time since we'd been here, so we decided to try them again. We were seated within two minutes after entering. The waitress was friendly and efficient. She's the one who told us about the buffet after... More

Picked this restaurant by chance. The chicken fajita salad was the best I ever had- in a huge bowl and loaded with real juicy chicken breast, peppers, onion, olives, pinto beans and lots of other goodies. The asada was a bit spicy for my wife, but delicious. The salsa was very spicy and flavorful.

First, a disclaimer, I was born in Artesia. My late uncle worked in this establishment back in the 1970's and it is an Artesia icon, having been around as long as I can remember. Today on Valentines, we were going to go and try another restaurant, but it did not open until later, so we went here. We were promptly... More

I have been here several times and never ordered the same thing twice. Lots of food to select from. I had the chicken burrito smothered in green chile sauce recently and it was delicious. I also appreciate the larger drink cups. I have had really great service all but one time when I had a new employee. They have a... More

I have been coming here once every week for a long time now! It is by far the best place to eat in artesia. The service is great and the nicest people you'll meet!

Luckily we stopped in for lunch at about 11:30 am on Sunday, because the place was really full when we left with lots of people waiting for tables! Our food was delicious, I had the chili relleno, the best I've had, really. The portions were very generous, we each took some home because we couldn't eat it all. The service... More

We usually eat at La Fonda every few weeks, but not anymore. The food is really bad now. Maybe since they are for sale now they just don't care anymore. We won't be eating here anymore.

It's slim pickin's on Sunday nights in Artesia. Regretfully, we opted for La Fonda. The service was ho-hum, the atmosphere not at all inviting, but the food was horrible. The 'chicken' my husband ordered seemed like frozen, pressed meat, the sauce thick and tasteless, the rice a mound of hard goop, the beans encrusted and cold. My topopo salad was... More

We are camping south of Artesia and visited La Fonda on the recommendation of another camper. We weren't sure if it was a Mexican Restaurant, or Southwest dishes, but it seems to be some of everything. I was disappointed that I could not get a cold beer to wash down a very heavy lunch, but learned too late that La... More
