Went here for my birthday lunch. The atmosphere was okay, the menu looked wonderful. Unfortunately, we sat at our table for over 20 minutes with absolutely NO service. The waiter saw us, just refused to acknowledge our presence. The table that was seated after us got their drinks and food while we were just waiting for contact. The waiter wouldn't... More

Lots of choices and what I would like to think of an "real" food. Affordable dining. Santa Fe chicken was delicious.

It a nice place to eat if you like Mexican food. We eat there quite a bit since there isn't a lot of restaurants in town. The guacamole and hot suace are always a need to have. I would recommend this place if u are craving some Mexican food!!

We have eaten here before and it was ok, It is an old mainstay restaurant that at times was really good. Hated to see it be this bad.

Just passing through and thought it was amazing. Fresh tortillas, great fajitas and salsa. Had a late party and out service was great.

We had the lunch buffet, which appeared to be what the majority of patrons were having. It was fair, filling and had quite a few options. They have quite a few Mexican options as well as pork chops, mashed potatoes, salad and a cake that looked good. Because we selected the buffet it was not particularly fresh but as with... More

I figured since I was in New Mexico where there is a large hispanic population that all of the mexican restaurants would have authentic, amazing food. But I just so happened to find the one place that didn't. Salsa is very easy to make, so it irritates me when restaurants serve salsa that is not homemade. I'm pretty sure this... More

Pretty much the worst wannabe Mexican restaurant ever. The salsa tastes like tomato sauce from a can and the chips are stale and cold. The vibe and dynamics in the restaurant are like racist Texas twenty years ago. Mostly, food is horrible.

We had dinner here with friends who recently moved to the area. The location is nice... It is clear the community is really working on the long term image of the city. One of three major bronze sculptures, El Vaquero, is right near the entrance. It is a beautiful work. We really appreciated the service. They're friendly and accommodating. The... More

We have eaten at la Fonda for many years and go there any time we visit Artesia. The food is great, and we were able to make reservations for a large family gathering. It is our family tradition and we just love it. Also all around the restaurant are the sculptures, fun for a post-meal stroll.
