We are just passing through also and I wanted some good Mexican fajitas. When they brought them they were in a plate with a little retried beans. They looked like they had been cooked in water with onions & green pepper. No flavor. I had to ask for some chopped lettuce & tomato to try and make them taste better.... More

We were passing through artesia during lunch time so I naturally check trip advisor for a good place to eat. I knew I wanted Mexican food so we chose to eat here. The food was amazing and authentic. The chipotle tacos were the bomb!

La Herradura is simple and good. The atmosphere is plain, but if you want good Mexican food, this is a great option in Artesia. Don't let the outside of the building or the neighborhood dissuade you. Inside you will find true and carefully prepared Mexican food. Filling, tasty, and not greasy. Try it, you'll like it.

My co-worker and I went to this restaurant for dinner after it was suggested by some of the locals. Wow, they were not lying. Great family restaurant, clean and friendly staff. The food was authentic not Tex-Mex with actual shredded beef and chicken. No beer and wine. They also sell Mexican candy at the register, great if you have never... More

This place was wonderful. I love Mexican food (not talking the American version, I mean the real deal) and this was some of the best I've had. It's a family restaurant (looked like mom & grandma were in the kitchen, daughter was waiting tables, fathers/sons were prepping & cleaning) in a very unassuming pre-fab building not far from the big... This was a very unexpected and highly delightful meal. The chicken in chipotle sauce was absolutely superb and the sopapillas were great. The location and building do a very good job of hiding what is a truly excellent mexican restaurant run by a group of little ladies.

I can't believe this placed had such great ratings. Very unfriendly wait staff with very slow service. Cheese enchiladas were so hot they were nearly uneatable. Chips were the type you buy in a grocery store. Order was wrong with no apology.

This is one of the best Mexican Restaurants in town that serves authentic delicious Mexican dishes. You won't be disappointed.
