We went here both nights we were in town. They were crazy busy. Service was great but slow due to being so busy but worth it. The chipotle pork tacos and burritos were amazing! Awesome chili rellenos too. Super nice people and a very simple atmosphere. Best Mexican food we had on our entire trip all around New Mexico!

Enjoyed some authentic Mexican food. The Rellenos were authentic NM. The service as lacking, however it is much better than La Fonda.

There was only one server running the entire restaurant when my girlfriend and I went in to have dinner. There weren't many customers there, but it took 10 minutes before our presence was even acknowledged. Service was terrible, and our food was cold when it finally arrived. I've had authentic Mexican food before, but this isn't it. Chips were from... More

we stopped in a hardware store and asked for a good recommendation for a local restaurant. This is where we were directed. La herradura had good food and the service and fine. As a previous writer mentioned, there were several tables that needed bussing. Other than that, the food was good. I had 3 taco, asada, Barbacoa and shredded beef.... More

Stopped in on our trip to Albuquerque, it was well worth it. Nothing fancy, just really good food at a reasonable price. My wife and I both had the combo plate with no complaints. The deshebrada taco with green chile was awesome.

It is worth the efgort to go off the beaten path to ind this little place. Be aware that they close at siesta time (2:00 to 5:00). it was full of locals and had Mexican soda... a favorite of ours. I enjoyed the barbacoa which was not hot, but had a side of chili based salsa to add to it.... More

After all, Artesia is not brimming over with dining options. Still, I don't get the rave reviews. We were staying overnight in Artesia on our way from Albuquerque to see the Carlsbad Cavern and checked trip advisor for non- chain restaurant options. We had read the other reviews, so were prepared for the outside to be a dusty trailer, and... More

Neighborhood & parking look like you should bring a gun, but no need. Place is airy & clean inside. 15 tables & 1 waitress make it a bit slow, but worth the wait. $8.50 for a huge plate, half filled w/ pork in spicy red chipotle sauce. Other half filled with rice & beans. All delicious as we're the corn... More
