Good Food

The Thai Tacos were very good as were the Fish and Chips. Both worth ordering. The Volcano Chocolate was huge, but two people were able to eat it all.

Visited for lunch one day. Had the chicken fried steak. Lightly crusted and fork tender. Excellent gravy and mashed potatoes. Tried a beer that I cannot recall the name of. Something like the Oilfield?? Very dark and flavorful. Second time we went, I had the same thing but no beer this time. I was driving. Good food and and friendly... More

We travel through Artesia between our Texas and Colorado home fairly often. We walked from hotel to The Wellhead to eat dinner. Ordered drinks, very weak. Husband ordered Chicken Fried Steak, a side salad, mashed potatoes. Order came and he asked if he could get some gravy for potatoes (normally chicken fried comes with gravy on everything). She came back... More

Service was good and efficient. The food was very good too. In fact, one of our men in our group sent his compliments to the chef. Sorry I can't remember what he had but my steak was excellent.

Working nearby for a couple of weeks, I often lunched here. Good variety on the lunch menu. I usually had their beef stew. They make it fresh, just the right sized portion. Good service, good prices. I imagine it's just as good for dinner.

Nice place for business or pleasure in the heart of Artesia's oil district. On two separate occasions, I have enjoyed their burgers, and whenever I am in this part of the country, I always arrange my schedule to stop here.

Historic building - really good food - friendly service. What's not to love? Really good chicken sandwich and burger. After dinner take a stroll down the street to see the delightful manmade water feature & stunning murals tucked away between two buildings. Artesia knows how to make a forgotten area into something lovely.

Well the reviews are kind of on target. Staff was nice and helpful. The place was clean and not too loud which was nice as this was for business. But the kitchen really blew it for 4/8 people. Served some with frozen veggies with hot fish, the burgers were okay, but the rest was just okay.

Burgers were ok but not as good as expected given they were handmade. Sweet potato fries were outstanding. Service was acceptable.

My brother and I went one evening to get a burger. The waitress asked us how we wanted the burger cooked we both said medium burgers come out both well done and burnt. We asked our waitress to please rectify the problem. She returned literally 2 minutes later same issue this went on 3 times. Manager gets involved and tells... More
