Have eaten here a few times and have found that some menu items are GREAT while others are just pretty good. The key is knowing which is which. The fried catfish (especially with a side of grilled asparagus with pico de gallo) is GREAT as are their steak dinners. Mash potatoes are especially good. Green chile stew is very good.... More

The microbrew beer was good. The green chili stew was good. The sweet potato fries were cold and soggy probably had been sitting for quite some time. The buffalo chicken sandwich was a piece of grilled chicken that wasn't very good with a huge smearing of a sauce which wasn't really buffalo but some sort of paste made from water... More

Great place in the middle of Artesia for steak. Good lunches. We had a big bowl of green chile stew... we're New Mexicans, and that was some hot stuff!

Came here for dinner one night because I heard the food was good. In actuality, it is little more than an expansive bar food menu. I got the turkey club, which was terrible. I was expecting a nice triple Decker sandwich with toasted bread and crisp bacon. Instead, I had two slices of Texas toast with warmed turkey, warmed wilted... More

We stopped at the Wellhead in Atresia for lunch while passing through the area. Food was good, service a little slower than I'm used to but not bad at all. Number of locals eating in here, that always says something. I would probably stop in again if I was not in a hurry.

Good food but more importantly, there were a lot of locals in there. The have micro brews on tap and the food was good. Service friendly. Family oriented. I saw a lot of babies with their parents. The place was nearly full for a Wednesday evening.

The service was good as was the food. Artesia, NM is an oil town and the sulphur(?) odor was noticeable to us as we walked to the restaurant. Hardly noticeable inside the restaurant. They offer a nice variety of dinner options. The bar was decorated with iron pipes similar to what you see on the oil rigs. They also had... More

We stopped here on our way to Ruidoso with a party of 4 teens and 4 adults. The menu was varied and provided the basics for the teens and a taste of New Mexico for the adults. The service was good and quick which also pleased us on this day of travel. On the main drag only a few blocks... More

Nice place to go to lunch with co-workers. I enjoyed my burger. Sweet and unsweet tea can get confusing for servers.

We didn't expect to find much because we went through a lot of desolate land to get there and were pleased to have food and beer that were well above average. The food is pub style, but the quality was quite good (far better than British pub food) and the beer very good. Service was attentive and pleasant, as well,... More
