Hummus Hummus Hummus

That's the menu, and it is delicious. One of the best I've ever eaten. Eat it with raw onion and pita, and order a drink. Be prepared to wait. The place is small and the lines are long. It's worth the wait and the house special avoids the dilemma of deciding what to eat.

On our taxi ride to Old Jaffa, we asked our driver for the best Hummus in the area; without hesitation he drove us to Abu Chassan. Truth is that 10 days into our trip, I could have skipped the hummus lunch, but my co-travelers needed another fix before we flew home. If I had to eat it, this was the... More

Good warm hummos. The fries were amazing. The service was quick and right to the point. The bill is given to you verbally which I found incredible. Love it!

Crowded with locals. Huge portions, good taste. Not the place for romantic dinners but a good and welcoming atmosphere.

Luckily, some friends took us to Abu Hassan otherwise I'd never have noticed it. Quick in an out place that serves just hummus in every possible form. It was Saturday morning so we were served a warm hummus with some chickpea pieces in it and oil (has a name but I can't remember it). Tasted wonderful, was enough to last... More

This fabled hole in the wall restaurant is all about consistency. Consistently $5 for the outstanding Hummus plate, pile of pita stacked high and a soda, community tables, the long line of people waiting outside patiently in line, direct and no frill service, etc. Nothing appears to have changed and it appears nothing ever will. Why change a winning team?

Note: Every thing I am writing and wrote is my opinion, taste and experience only and could be different to others. I can't count how many times I ate in Abu Chassan or in his other name Ali Karavan which it is the first name. I am eating here for more than 15 years and usually I order the Misabaha.... More

If you want to eat good and tasty hummus and enjoy it, that this is the place. On Friday morning, it's crowdy and you may need to queue for some time, but you will forget it and enjoy the food.

A MUST try. I love it, have eaten their so many times, and each time is a new unique experience. This time we ordered one Musabbaha and one half-half, very nice, especially the half-half.

While hummus like most foods is a subjective matter, one of the most debated, appreciated, talked-about and recommended places for hummus is Abu-Hasan. The location is so popular that the owners opened another branch right across the street and they are both packed at all opening hours. While hummus enthusiasts might pick other places as their all time favorites, this... More
