Luckily, some friends took us to Abu Hassan otherwise I'd never have noticed it. Quick in an out place that serves just hummus in every possible form. It was Saturday morning so we were served a warm hummus with some chickpea pieces in it and oil (has a name but I can't remember it). Tasted wonderful, was enough to last... More

This fabled hole in the wall restaurant is all about consistency. Consistently $5 for the outstanding Hummus plate, pile of pita stacked high and a soda, community tables, the long line of people waiting outside patiently in line, direct and no frill service, etc. Nothing appears to have changed and it appears nothing ever will. Why change a winning team?

Note: Every thing I am writing and wrote is my opinion, taste and experience only and could be different to others. I can't count how many times I ate in Abu Chassan or in his other name Ali Karavan which it is the first name. I am eating here for more than 15 years and usually I order the Misabaha.... More

If you want to eat good and tasty hummus and enjoy it, that this is the place. On Friday morning, it's crowdy and you may need to queue for some time, but you will forget it and enjoy the food.

A MUST try. I love it, have eaten their so many times, and each time is a new unique experience. This time we ordered one Musabbaha and one half-half, very nice, especially the half-half.

While hummus like most foods is a subjective matter, one of the most debated, appreciated, talked-about and recommended places for hummus is Abu-Hasan. The location is so popular that the owners opened another branch right across the street and they are both packed at all opening hours. While hummus enthusiasts might pick other places as their all time favorites, this... More

You will have no trouble finding this place. Just look for people sitting anywhere they can, both inside and outside. Where i am from hummus is dip or a side. Not this place the hummus in the main event. The hummus still warm from the grinding process. Topped with whole chickpeas fresh herbs, stunning olive oil and partnered up with... More

I can't say whether this is the best Hummus in Israel as others claim but it is very good. Basically a window with a couple tables. It was packed. We stood on line and got our hummus in bowls which they let you take outside so you can sit on a nearby wall and savor the flavor. Pita was fresh,... More

For a truly Israeli experience head to Abu Hassan. The place is run down, hurried, and absolutely delicious. They serve Hummus, falafel, french fries (chips) and that's just about it. Get a warm bowl of Humus just the way you like it and top it with some spicy lemon juice, a bit of schug (spicy stuff) and dig in with... More
