One of seafood haven in Padang

This place is opposite the beach, from the 2nd floor we still can see the nice view of the sea. The seafood is good, the restaurant atmosphere is conservative chinese restaurant. Good for a big family gathering.

seafood greatly overpriced. $25US per kg for a mud crab. took 40 minutes to prepare my nasi goering. Place is popular with bus tour groups.

The fish dishes are ok, buttered fried shrimp is better. The sauce for the crab with Padang sauce is too sweet, but the crab soup is tasteless.

Food here is well executed Chinese seafood, although nothing special. The place is enormous and the service suffers because of it.

I have friends who fly their office staff to Padang for one night in a hotel just so they can eat at the Nelayan. The top end seafood dishes are to die for. Ask the price first as some seafood is very seasonal (like mud crabs) and the price can change a bit. For sure an experience not to be... More

This place is expensive for Padang but we had some great whole fish with chilis. It's right on Padang beach so you can catch the sunset, and they serve beer.

Great sunsets, prompt service and fresh seafood make this my go-to stop every time I visit Padang. A tray of fish, crab and lobster is brought to your table - you select what you want and how it is to be prepared. I love the garlic chili sauce on the fish and prefer the sweet mud crab steamed with no... More

The food was decent but nothing to shout about. The local restaurant next to Nelayan probably has better value. But Nelayan has an air-conditioned 2nd floor from which you will see a spectacular sunset.

The food is very good, they bring a selection of fresh fishes to your table, you chose the one you want and they'll cook it for you. however it can get very expensive. The service is normal, nothing out of the extraordinary.
