Dinner with a crowd

Quite honestly the worst meal imaginable. The whole place is dirty and covered in flies. We paid 200,000rph for cold old rice with cremated fish and no other flavours of any kind unless you include the strange fly covered sauces that are just sitting around. There are stacks and stacks of dirty plates in bowls on the floor and all... More

We came here by the recommendation of the Lonely Planet guide. Seafood is OK but nothing special. The tables and floor are dirty because the locals throw everything on the floor (like in whole Sulawesi). There are flies everywhere and it is unappetizing. There are no prices so for the tourists it is probably more (as opposed to all the... More

Like any other seafood place in the city, you chose what you eat from the coolboxes. Fresh, simple, local people seems to like this place, nothing extraordinary, taste and price are decent, you can use this place as the safe choice

The food is fresh, but not many types of fish choice. Grilled fish tasted plain, sauce not spicy enough.

This week I made two trips to Lae Lae. This is a popular local eatery which one goes to for the fresh grilled fish, not for atmosphere. You start out by picking out your fish from the cooler. Then make your way to one of the tables (most are quite large). I ordered rice and kankung (swamp spinach). The waiter... More
