Local must visit for fresh fish

This week I made two trips to Lae Lae. This is a popular local eatery which one goes to for the fresh grilled fish, not for atmosphere. You start out by picking out your fish from the cooler. Then make your way to one of the tables (most are quite large). I ordered rice and kankung (swamp spinach... read more

The food is fresh, but not many types of fish choice. Grilled fish tasted plain, sauce not spicy enough.

Is a very simple place...but i think is one of the best places to eat sea food in Makassar, you will find shrimp, fish, octupus, calamari....everything fresh, prices cheap for the queality and great taste....one of my favorites in Makassar

I was expecting something special about this place. But the food here is just decent. You can find seafood like this in any other place.

It looks like a big canteen. People eats with their hands. And the floor gets trashy with what they throw on the floor. I, a vegeterian, had 2 good vegetables dishes out of a larger choice. For the fish, it looked overgrilled but customers seem to like it. My friend had grilled chicken that smelled fish, of course they use... More

We ate here often while in Makassar. You get to choose your own seafood which they then BBQ. It's fun sitting at the long tables and meeting the locals who turn up in great numbers to eat here. The food is superb and the staff helpful with suggestions (even though most don't speak English).
