It's always a best choice of place when you visited Pandaan Area for a great lunch. Special tips for a non-local. Ensure you ask what is the content of the menu, lesson learned from my side; bakwan is not a 'bakwan toge/ jagung' as you know in Jakarta. Here, bakwan means meatball :)

they provide a good food such as traditional fried chicken, traditional beef floss, and local tofu or "tempeh". you can also select your level of spice.. how 'hot' you want... they can put more chili or just normal chili.. for them who don't like chili, it is still delicious!

love to try some spicy food. try the place out. lots of local food and cleaniness is good. if you are not used to local spicy food...expect to have side effects later hahaha.

I always order Nasi Empal Penyet, Sambal Pedas and Es Dawet here. Besides empal, they also sells fried chicken, meatball, fried egg, tempe, ribs, fried catfish, fried bandeng, etc (sorry, most of them can not be explained in English!) and they are served with their specialty chili paste!

I love this restaurant, it has some several places spreading in Surabaya, but I think the one in Bukit Mas is the best one. The spicy there is just marvelous.. You can't hope for a better penyetan..
