A nice ethnic restaurant with strong Javanese Atmosphere

My office organized an outdoor family dinner in this restaurant in early September 2014. Fortunately the weather was OK though it was a little bit cloudy in the afternoon. We organized several fun activities during the dinner (dance, games, etc), and I was the MC for the event. The Javanese... read more

The food was average. It was reheated, the taste was very average, almost poor. As an Indonesian, I can find a better taste fried chicken on the street carts compare to this. Coffee was poor. The good thing about this restaurant was the hand drawing (batik tulis) wall hangings. They were jaw dropping.

We came from Jogjakarta (estimated 1,5hour drive) with some moderate traffic. First we think the restaurant is closed but then we go inside and meet the staff . If you already too starving, this place could be a turndown coz they cooked the meal quite long. They also sell local snacks made from cassava so while waiting you can try them... More

Next to the wonderful Batik museum, tonight's meal was very bad; reheated and not worth it. Maybe on a monday night they just dont bother. Try the street stalls instead.

The only reason we went there was because it was located next to Batik Museum. The place was nice and comfy. The service was rather disappointing because we had to wait for so long for our meals, which I know for sure they're not freshly made upon each order. The taste of the food was okay, not bad but nothing... More

The restaurant is pretty chique, not comparable to other restaurants we have seen in Solo/Surakarta. It's situated centrally and serves upscale traditional Indonesian food as well as classical Dutch dishes.

We went with a group of 10 friends. We were the only people in the restaurant. Service was ok and friendly. Some of us had a typical indonesian meal, which for some was not good at all and very small portions. Others had more western meals or the wagyu steak/brochette, which was excellent! So meanings differ and depend on the... More
