Small portion with pale soup

This Semarang Soto comes in small bowl with rice, shreded chicken, bean sprout, and pale gravy colour. The taste is just so so for me. I still cannot compare it with Soto Pak Jayus Surabaya nor Soto Gubeng Pojok.

Soto Selan in jalan Depok already there since my father studied in Semarang, many years ago.. the taste of the soto is the same from my first visit when I was in elementry school until today. Tempe (soyabean cake), didih (steam chicken blood), tofu, kerupuk udang is the best side dish for eating the soto. Every time I visit Semarang,... More

Good taste but small place, they need to think to expand the restaurant capacity. But actually the taste of soto ayam that they have is delicious.

This time, I would like to share my experience in dining at Soto Selan few months ago. I knew this establishment since eight (8) years ago when one of my friends took me there for lunch. From that moment, I had been visiting this place more than 20 times. However, I don't really visit this place anymore these days as... More

I always slurp 2 Bowls of the Soto & always ask for the Tempe. Most of the Time must be in a team of 2 bowls of Soto & 5 Tempe Goreng.

Indonesia has many tipes of soto, in some region it is called Cao to, cotto, etc. The variation are endless, it is always a bowl of soup, but the simolarity end there. Soto betawi, is a milky broth made with coconut milk and piece of beef and innards. The Soto Semarang is a healthier alternative, where it is a clear... More

Soto Selan is soto ayam with yellow soup with chicken, rice, taoge/ bean sprout, fried garlic. The taste is the best of soto in Semarang. The price is reasonable. Maybe 6000 rupiah/ portion (sorry, i forget the exact price). We can eat it with gorengan/ fried pergedel/ mashed potato, fried tempe, tahu, sate ayam, sate kerang/ oyster satay. good!

On march 2013 it was my first visit to semarang. I visit there for business purpose. After the meeting i don't have any idea what to have lunch, so i use tripadvisor as my guide. I check out some suggested restaurant from tripadvisor and pick this soto. Soto is indonesia speaciality food and this one is one of the best... More

The taste was not so good as advertised since the overall taste was so sweet. The service really bad since the waiter didn't serve you with smile and looked so cocky. And most of all is the price somehow overvalued too much, because for just a bowl of Soto you paid so much money. So it's really invaluable in my... More
