Soto Ayam pioneer in Semarang

I remember this place since I was a little boy, always have the same taste, complete with the chicken skin satay and intestine, I know...I know it is not healthy...but it is one of indulgence on your life.

The most well known menu is Soto Bangkong (of course), although you can find the same 'warung' in many different places in Indonesia; this is the first 'warung' the restaurant chain had. It worth a visit

Until now I still can't understand why this restorant so famous. In semarang we can find a lot of warung soto more tasty, delicious and cheap than soto bangkong.

The taste of this kind of soto is very unique, very spicy and fresh. A bowl of soto is served with a lot of choices of its accessory. It is not enough to take only one bowl in one shoot.....

The eatery is pretty well spaced, but sometimes crowded due to it's fame, eventough they have branches all over Semarang, my favourite is still the original spot: the Bangkong crossroad. Too bad the parking space aren't as spacious. On certain... More

Soto in Semarang is known as clear chicken soup with traditional taste, actually it is the favorite food and easy to eat to everybody. Several times I am going to Soto Bangkong, but unfortunately I always got bad experienced, I expect they change on how to serve, the cleanness, the service, until the cleanness of Resto itself and the toilet,... I had this dish as breakfast. The soto was tasty and the portion was good. The potato patties (bergedel) was exceptional. However the cockle sate (sate kerang) was a bit too sweet for my liking. The fried tempeh was okay. I was lucky that the place was not smokey when i was there (brought here by relatives). Otherwise if it... More
