Cafe Wayan and Bakery Established in 1986 We are happy to have had so many nice guests come to enjoy our food for over 28 years. Cafe Wayan started as a small warung (a local food stall) where Ibu Wayan sold black rice pudding and coffee to the rice farmers on what has now become Monkey Forest Road. Tourist began walking down "the path" to the Monkey Forest and stopped by for a coffee, snacks or to buy peanuts for the monkeys. Ibu Wayans always love to cook as a child and soon the menu began to expand. Return friends to Ubud began helping with recipes of western dishes as long term visitors and residents sometimes miss their own food too. Ibu Wayan began traveling abroad and learned more western cooking with Chef Joe Schultz of India Joes's restaurant in Santa Cruz, California and also learned the art of Thai cuisine in Bangkok.

We had an excellent dinner for three. Each dish was tasty and affordable. Drinks were moderately priced too, which I appreciated. Total bill was around $30. I would recommend asking to sit in the garden area. At first, they seated us up front. We could hear road noise and the the blender from the bar. We asked to move to... More

Our table of four had dinner here. Well priced, decent food. The only thing I didn't enjoy were my vegetarian Thai spring rolls. There seemed to be a lot of tasteless fillings. We enjoyed everything else. 3 of us even tried the 'Death by Chocolate' - I was the only one that finished, very rich! The chocolate mousse is delicious... More

Having dined here a number of times both for lunch and dinner we have never been disappointed with the quality of the service or food. The setting of the tables bring strung out along a very long, narrow plot of land with a winding path through lush gardens is wonderful. Arrive early to get one of the more private tables... More

Each day, we sit in the same seat with the same menu. Especially, we love Indonesian menu like sate and nasi campur. Of course chicken curry is great. Child can enjoy mild curry. We can say seasonal strawberry juice and mango juice are the best in the world. We are lucky we visited here during the rainy season. We will... More

My partner and I ate here recently while spending a week in Ubud. We came here on recommendation by our local tour guide and were not disappointed. We had the nasi goreng and nasi campur. Both very generous portions and very tasty. We also had dessert as it sounded too good to miss ... coconut pie with ice-cream. Lovely setting... More

Located in the main street of Monkey Forest Ubud. Nice garden, good food and always full. What I don't like is the price $$$$($), for a Nasi Goreng is 50K; if you come with a car, difficult to park almost impossible. No nice view, just garden in the restaurant.

We had the Sunday buffet where we were able to try all the different indonesian cuisine. The food was delicious and staff were very friendly and attentive. Great way to end the trip in Ubud.
