Description: Cafe Wayan and Bakery Established in 1986 We are happy to have had so many nice guests come to enjoy our food for over 28 years. Cafe Wayan started as a small warung (a local food stall) where Ibu Wayan sold black rice pudding and coffee to the rice farmers on what has now become Monkey Forest Road. Tourist began walking down "the path" to the Monkey Forest and stopped by for a coffee, snacks or to buy peanuts for the monkeys. Ibu Wayans always love to cook as a child and soon the menu began to expand. Return friends to Ubud began helping with recipes of western dishes as long term visitors and residents sometimes miss their own food too. Ibu Wayan began traveling abroad and learned more western cooking with Chef Joe Schultz of India Joes's restaurant in Santa Cruz, California and also learned the art of Thai cuisine in Bangkok.

We came here several times in the afternoon and evening. It's a great escape from the busy high street. We lived the gardens. They are so tranquil. The service is amazing. We had great local dishes and we especially enjoyed the carrot cake.

We visited for breakfast this trip and food was okay and service excellent. I remember the food being better on a previous trip and am thinking it must of been the lunch menu that was more enjoyable....If I visit again it will most likely not be for breakfast, food was pretty average this time. The location and restaurant itself is... More

Had few times for lunch and late lunch with my family and the standard and quality of the food and presentation has been tempting us to revisit this restaurant again and again. Value for money, friendly staffs, great ambience just for relaxing, nice garden with traditional concept: just a place for us to be in Ubud. Thanks Cafe Wayan and... More

First stop we had home made cake which was absolutely amazing. Came back later that week for diner, found ourselves a lovely spot in the garden. Both the asian food and the western food were truely amazing. The dessert was a real celebration. The friendly staff made us hang around just a little longer, because of the nice and friendly... Amazing garden restaurant in the back, you would never imagine how big the place is from the street . It is a must see in Ubud The food is very good but not excellent , reasonable price given the popularity of the venue. The staff is lovely, extremely friendly, our waitress sat with us for a chat and told us... More

The garden setting is hidden off the road, giving tranquility. We enjoyed the setting but found the atmosphere cool - there was no music or laughter to be heard. The food was ok, but not of the superb standards we have come to expect in Ubud. You won't be disappointed in the tropical gardens - especially during the heat of... More

Been there many times and introdused to my friends as well. Gardens are fantastic! Seats are divided to cozy huts which are excellent to spend an intimate time. Food: All salads are excellent! - Papaya chicken salad is one of the best i have ever tried! No special and complicated ingredients but delicious! - Orange avocado salad is also great... More

We really enjoyed our meal here; a good selection of food and wine. The gardens are really pretty, the staff are friendly. This restaurant in my opinion is second only to Bridges but at half the price. Tip: eat at the far end of the garden for a really peaceful Experience. Hope you enjoy!

Really impressed by their satay ayam with satay peanut sauce. I can't begin to describe how delicious it was. I went for the chefs special for the day which was reasonably priced and went down a treat. Drinks were amazing too, this place is def worth a shot... Don't miss out.
