Cafe Wayan and Bakery Established in 1986 We are happy to have had so many nice guests come to enjoy our food for over 28 years. Cafe Wayan started as a small warung (a local food stall) where Ibu Wayan sold black rice pudding and coffee to the rice farmers on what has now become Monkey Forest Road. Tourist began walking down "the path" to the Monkey Forest and stopped by for a coffee, snacks or to buy peanuts for the monkeys. Ibu Wayans always love to cook as a child and soon the menu began to expand. Return friends to Ubud began helping with recipes of western dishes as long term visitors and residents sometimes miss their own food too. Ibu Wayan began traveling abroad and learned more western cooking with Chef Joe Schultz of India Joes's restaurant in Santa Cruz, California and also learned the art of Thai cuisine in Bangkok.

Great food and great location.

We've eaten here a few times now and have always enjoyed the food. The menu has a wide selection to choose from, and the setting is beautiful with stunning gardens. Also, the staff are great.

We had a beautiful meal here on our last night in Ubud. The food and atmosphere were both great. The portion sizes were large and prices reasonable too. Our only regret is that we didn't find the place sooner. Not to be missed!

We ate a lot of our meals here when in Ubud, and stayed at Alam Indah, owned by the same family. The crispy duck was the best meal I had in bali, the satay was amazing, as were the balinese style spring rolls. The restaurant is beautifully done, even the toilets and the staff are great. Try the black rice... More

The place is deceivingly large (very deep). The place was nearly empty when we arrived at just after 7 PM without a reservation but, we were told that were we seated, we would have to finish our meal by 8:30 as they were completely booked. Of course, that threw a damper on things. Having said that; the food service and... More

Our guide for the day suggested this place for lunch. Would have never stopped here without his suggestion. We ate on the floor with pillows which was great and had water around us. Quiet and off the road believe it or not and very reasonable. Lots of choices for food from western food to Balinese to pizzas. Really good though.... More

We ate at Cafe Wayan 3 times during our time in Ubud! The total experience was so good it kept up coming back. Food is excellent, the garden setting is stunning and staff are very friendly and helpful. Very suitable for families and young children too. Food is very reasonably priced.

We have been there for dinner and it was a very good decision. The garden in very large and quiet. So this was a perfect getaway from the loud and hectic ubud during the day. The food was very good and the prices are reasonable.

Cafe Wayan is more than what you see at the front. Follow the wandering pathways and you discover many dining nooks, gorgeous tropical gardens, and water features. Lovely cool oasis during the day but do make sure to go at night also as the gardens with strategic lighting are an absolute delight at night! We had a 25th wedding anniversary... More

If you want to have an experience of Bali food in a very nice atmosphere, this place is for you. If you want to avoid expensive dishes and rude service (the staff pressed us to go, taking our plates just after the last spoon, giving us the bill without us asking, and been told to leave 5 min after paying...
