Description: Murni, the owner of the equally famous Murni's Houses and Tamarind Spa...
Murni, the owner of the equally famous Murni's Houses and Tamarind Spa, opened Ubud's first real restaurant in 1974 and it remains first in the hearts of many people today. The menu is varied and delicious and you can enjoy your drinks and meals and surf the Web using the free WiFi on one of four levels overlooking the river. Level 1: When you enter Murni's Warung, the first thing you'll notice is the view of the greenery on the river's hillside. The steel cable in the foreground supports the bridge next door. On the way to your table, you'll walk past a display cabinet of cakes and pastries that you should take a look at -- just so you'll know how much room to save for dessert. The restaurant is decorated with art from Murni's collection, including the small carvings high on the walls. Level 2: The large statue of Ganesha, the Elephant God, that greets you in the Lounge Bar was commissioned in 1997 and completed in early 2002. He and Murni are about the same height. This is a great place to have cocktails or meet friends for a drink. You can also eat here. Level 3: We generally reserve this level for parties, wedding receptions and birthday parties or when the Warung is overflowing. It can seat about 50-60 people. Level 4: And finally you arrive just above the river. You'll enjoy the sound of flowing water with your candlelit dinner in the midst of exotic surroundings. Murni's Warung Shop is a good place to wander in while you are waiting for your meal. And enjoy our books, Forty Delicious Years and Secrets of Bali.

Great ambiance, fair food

Their Balinese food is authentic and does not cater to the taste buds of the tourists which exemplifies the value for their culture. They also had a mini show where children dance their traditional dances. although short, it is very entertaining to watch. do not order the western food. its is quite... read more

Me and my fiancé came twice here for lunch, only a few mins walk from our hotel :) lovely view but some construction going on across the river so a bit loud. But didn't really bother us. First time I had grilled chicken which was lovely, second time I had the gado gado and it was amazing! The guacamole is... More

Always tasty and delicious with fantastic views of the river from the multi-level restaurant. Ask for a balcony table. Very helpful friendly staff who are very attentive. Well worth a visit to Murnis adjacent stores. Couldn't go to Ubud without eating often at Murnis.

You don't really go to Murni's for the food - although there's nothing wrong with it - but for the tradition, the lovely view over the river, the friendly service, and the delicious black rice pudding and fresh juices.

Lovely surroundings & view. Fresh juices. We only wanted a drink, so I cannot comment on the food here. From the exyptensive menu, it sounded nice but compared to other (decent) restaurants in Ubud, this was slightly more expensive.

Our experience here was lovely. We went for an early evening dinner as a family (with our two year old). The staff were wonderful with her. The restaurant is gorgeous with lots of levels of seating to choose from. We had one floor to ourselves most of the night (we did go earlier than most people). The view is amazing.... More

Just speechless! Incredibly beautiful please. Every time i am in Ubud i definitely go there for a cup of coffee or some cocktails. For better experience, go to the down floor. The view to a river is amazing!

Went for lunch due to the reviews on here. Was a nice walk from the monkey forest, and once there a great view from the bottom floor of the dining area. Had the mie goreng which was good. The lady had the Butu Ayam which I'm told was pretty tasty. Food came out prompt.

I'm glad that you enjoyed the food and view and the service was prompt. I hope you can return. We're ideally situated for a stop before or after the Campuhan Ridge Walk. It's a great walk. Murni More
