Description: Murni opened Ubud's first real restaurant in 1974 and it remains first in the hearts of many people today. The menu is varied and delicious and you can enjoy your drinks and meals and surf the Web using the free WiFi on one of four levels overlooking the river.Level 1When you enter Murni's Warung, the first thing you'll notice is the view of the greenery on the river's hillside. The steel cable in the foreground supports the bridge next door.On the way to your table, you'll walk past a display cabinet of cakes and pastries that you should take a look at -- just so you'll know how much room to save for dessert. The restaurant is decorated with art from Murni's collection, including the small carvings high on the walls.Level 2The large statue of Ganesha, the Elephant God, that greets you in the lounge was commissioned in 1997 and completed in early 2002. He and Murni are about the same height.Level 3We generally reserve this level for parties or when the Warung is overflowing.Level 4And finally you arrive just above the river. You'll enjoy the sound of flowing water with your candlelit dinner in the midst of exotic surroundings.

This old established and famous restaurant is definitely a must visit on any trip to Bali. Excellent food, warm service, incredible location and good value. There's a wide range of local dishes (hard to find) and Western dishes and a nice Lounge Bar to sip cocktails in in comfort and beautifully decorated. All our meals were great. So highly recommended

First ate at Murni's on our 1st visit to Ubud about 25 years ago. Still good service and nice choice of food and not hard on the pocket! A meal at Murni's is now a must every time we come to Ubud. Enjoy!!

Murni's is one of the oldest established warungs in Ubud and a 'must do' whilst in Ubud. I ate at Murni's on several occasions but while I can say the food was good I can't say that it was great - for sure there are some different items on the menu, the food is fresh, well presented but for me... Didn't even stay in Ubud this holiday, but made the trip up from the south just for a Murni's lunch. As I was on a 'nasi goreng' tour this time I knew I was going to get what I wanted here. The usual shared chicken sate for appetiser and aforementioned main meal went down a treat at our usual table... More

We very much enjoyed this historic restaurant. It is airy and beautiful inside with an amazing view of the gorge and river. The food is delicious from a wide-ranging menu, very pleasant service and good prices. So highly recommended on every score.

This is a really enchanting restaurant in an amazing setting with great local and Western food. Service was delightful and the prices very reasonable. Murni's has been around for 40 years and the owner has a great shop on the premises, as well as accommodation and a lovely spa. We enjoyed great meals every time we went. Highly recommended.

This is a hidden haven, with the entrance off the main road but once you go down to the bottom level you are treated to a gorgeous view of the river running below. My sister and I came here 10 years ago and were delighted to rediscover this peaceful place - as beautiful as it was back then. The lovely... More

Although we ate at Bridges, Mozaic, Taco Casa and the like during our wonderful two week stay in Ubud our absolute favourite place to hang out and eat was Murni's warung. There are numerous reasons why Murni's was the place we liked to revisit the most: - fabulous views akin to those found at Bridges across the bridge - amazing... More

The restaurant is oriented to river, so you can eat in very calm comfortable place just near the main Ubud road. People are friendly and service is great. The Indonesian meal was delicious (bebek betutu - traditional Balinese receipt for duck, as well as fried noodles). Just the order of "special offer of the day", gnocchi with tomatoes, was not...
