Description: Murni opened Ubud's first real restaurant in 1974 and it remains first in the hearts of many people today. The menu is varied and delicious and you can enjoy your drinks and meals and surf the Web using the free WiFi on one of four levels overlooking the river.Level 1When you enter Murni's Warung, the first thing you'll notice is the view of the greenery on the river's hillside. The steel cable in the foreground supports the bridge next door.On the way to your table, you'll walk past a display cabinet of cakes and pastries that you should take a look at -- just so you'll know how much room to save for dessert. The restaurant is decorated with art from Murni's collection, including the small carvings high on the walls.Level 2The large statue of Ganesha, the Elephant God, that greets you in the lounge was commissioned in 1997 and completed in early 2002. He and Murni are about the same height.Level 3We generally reserve this level for parties or when the Warung is overflowing.Level 4And finally you arrive just above the river. You'll enjoy the sound of flowing water with your candlelit dinner in the midst of exotic surroundings.

Place was okay, its near Blanco Museum. Price was fair and its reflected on it's taste. Food was okay, but dont expect too much.

My husband and I ate here on November 15th and found the service and venue amazing. I ordered Murni's special slow cooked chicken dish, which was one of the best meals I had during my stay. Their friendly driver even offered us a lift home afterwards, which was fantastic. Thanks Murni, we look forward to coming back :)

Go there for the fantastic setting, almost IN the river, have the duck, their speciality, and you will be VERY satisfied. Tried the chicken, this was dry and a disappointment. Duck is around usd 10 including tax, which is a little more the the average meal in Ubud, but not by very much, and it surely is worth it! Great... More

I have come to Bali for many, many years and always make a point to come to Murni's while I am in Ubud. The beautiful view, warm and welcoming staff and consistently good food make it always enjoyable. I recommend coming during the daylight to truly take in the view. The menu is varied and there will likely be something... More

We organised our Balinese Blessing ceremony here & everything was planned to perfection. Jonathon's assistance with advice & organisation was great. Service was exceptional, they even remembered us from our original wedding reception 10 yrs earlier. Food was reasonable price but quality was high. Not the cheapest in town, but also not the most expensive. Ambiance is second to none.... More

Few words to describe this place: a very great location, very typical food, kind staff and a fantastic duck. As per real Balinese recipe you can taste a duck you will never forget. The cost is higher than an average warung as well as the quality of the food.

When you enter go all the way down the stairs, and you are almost at the bottom of the large ravine that cuts through Ubud. The gardens and ambiance here are very special. The service is pleasant. The menu is varied (probably because everyone wants Indonesian AND European! Try the lemon juice with ginger, on ice on a hot day... More

This place came highly recommended by another guest at our hotel so we made a point of getting there. We found that it was some odd fusion of Indonesian and Western cuisine, it couldn't quite decide what it wanted to be, every dish was just sort of nothing in particular. Maybe our taste buds just didn't match that of the... More

Murnis Warung is not only an historic icon - the first Warung set up to serve visitors in Ubud - but a simply lovely place to eat. First is the choice of places to sit and admire the view of the river. It's not immediately obvious from the outside, but the warung comprises four floors - each offering a different... More

The restaurant is on the river and has four levels. The scenery is gorgeous and the food was very good. The décor is ornate, with such beautiful Balinese art and sculpture. They also have a cool shop with Balinese handicrafts.
