Description: Murni, the owner of the equally famous Murni's Houses and Tamarind Spa...
Murni, the owner of the equally famous Murni's Houses and Tamarind Spa, opened Ubud's first real restaurant in 1974 and it remains first in the hearts of many people today. The menu is varied and delicious and you can enjoy your drinks and meals and surf the Web using the free WiFi on one of four levels overlooking the river. Level 1: When you enter Murni's Warung, the first thing you'll notice is the view of the greenery on the river's hillside. The steel cable in the foreground supports the bridge next door. On the way to your table, you'll walk past a display cabinet of cakes and pastries that you should take a look at -- just so you'll know how much room to save for dessert. The restaurant is decorated with art from Murni's collection, including the small carvings high on the walls. Level 2: The large statue of Ganesha, the Elephant God, that greets you in the Lounge Bar was commissioned in 1997 and completed in early 2002. He and Murni are about the same height. This is a great place to have cocktails or meet friends for a drink. You can also eat here. Level 3: We generally reserve this level for parties, wedding receptions and birthday parties or when the Warung is overflowing. It can seat about 50-60 people. Level 4: And finally you arrive just above the river. You'll enjoy the sound of flowing water with your candlelit dinner in the midst of exotic surroundings. Murni's Warung Shop is a good place to wander in while you are waiting for your meal. And enjoy our books, Forty Delicious Years and Secrets of Bali.

Still as wonderful as before

It's our 2nd visit to Murni's in 4 years and this place hasn't lost its charms. The food is good and the views of the flowing river breathtaking and serene. Prices are reasonable too. Not to be missed if you visit Ubud

The food was good, service friendly and wonderful river views over 4 levels. Short walk from hotel Tjampuhan over the bridge. Lowest level best view.

We dropped into Murnis Warung late one evening as the special on the board outside sounded too good to pass up (so our sons thought) . They were correct. Great food and cocktails too. The food was so good we went back the next night for dinner and more cocktails! A grest spot to eat, lovely people and fantastic food.... More

We went there after reading good reviews. The setting is nice and set over 4 floors but it was empty. We went for Western food and were disappointed especially given the prices. Staff were good but food ruined it. Better places to eat in ubud

bringing along my family for holiday trip to Bali, we stop at Murni warung for early dinner. It looks small from the entrance but this restaurant was built on the river side with multilevel down to the river. Nicely decorated just like a gallery. Food is good, but if you travel with elderly / children, be more careful as there... More

Thank you for visiting and mentioning the beautiful view and good food. We have steps down to the lowest level just above the river, which people really love, but we have the same food on the ground level, which only has 3 steps down to it. I hope that you are having a great time in Bali. Murni More

We ate twice at Murni's, once for dinner, and again for lunch later in the week. Both meals were lovely, and the service was also very friendly. On the evening we walked in quite late after having watched a dance performance and were worried that they might not serve us because they were almost empty. We needn't have worried -... More

Thank you for highly recommending Murni's Warung and coming for lunch and dinner. I'm glad that you enjoyed it and that both meals were lovely and the service was also very friendly. I agree that the ambience and location, right next to the Campuhan Bridge, and with views down to the river, can't be beaten. But then, I'm biased! Murni More

This restaurant is really lovely! The food and the menu selection is excellent, the staff is wonderful, lovely and efficient, and the location of the restaurant is wonderful! It is built on 4 levels, each level beautiful, but the nicest ist te one the most down! You have, after all, to earn the view and the food! It is wonderfully... More

Went here with my Fiance, his 15 year old daughter and our 17 month old after a full day out touring around Ubud. I had read mixed reviews prior to going there, but decided the setting was worth it. I have to say we were all really impressed. We dinned on the lower level, with the river running alongside it.... More

We wandered in here off the street after a hasty peek of trip advisor on the phone. The food was fantastic, the staff great and the atmosphere we found just exceptional.
