It has always been Bernadette's dream to open a waroeng that serves her childhood favorite dishes growing up in Java, made the way her mother, grandmother and aunties used to make it. Adrienne has been exporting Indonesian handicrafts to clients all over the world since she moved to Bali in 1992. For the first time her creations have been made available in Bali in the Waroeng. Great Indonesian food, beautiful decoration

This restaurant has really good Indonesian food at reasonable prices, given its location in the center of Ubud. The decoration is all made of art objects that you can buy. Nice staff. Recommend

This was a great little restaurant with very nice staff. We shared the corn fritters and samosas which were both cooked well with good ingredients but perhaps lacked a bit of seasoning. Still good though. My other half had the famous rendang which I tasted with much food envy. It was fantastic. I enjoyed a simple mie goreng - the... More

I had read a good review in an australian newspaper for this restaurant so wanted to try the rendang for myself. I wasn't disappointed. Very tender and tasty. Generous serve.

Great Rendang and value for money. Bernadette is a great cook & this signature dish is excellent. Not only Rendang but the other dishes are not what we come for, it is her Rendang that draws the crowd :)

I had the pleasure of eating at Bernadette's Waroeng in Ubud. Her Beef Rendang is amazing....slow cooked and so flavorful....I can't wait to return.

The food tasted good but it took a long time for it to come to the table, the restaurant was not that busy at the time. The setting is nice and comfortable.

The good: Starters - Tempe and samosas both good - promising start The bad - everything else - aloof waiter who didn't want to be there, half the things we wanted were 'finished' and unavailable, the mains (beef Rangoon and nasi goreng) were both very average and were mostly left unbeaten. The unexpected tax on the bill. We have been... More

We had the Jackfruit Rendang (Amazing), Rawon (Wickedly Good), Sop Buntot (Out of this World) and the Chicken something which I can't really remember. Anyway, we thoroughly enjoyed dinner here and Bernadette brought great energy to the place. Oh yes, have the Bernadette Tea... Definitely worth a visit. :-)

Went here with my friend without any expectations (the restaurant we were planning to go to was full) and ended up having one of our best dinners on bali. Very warm athmosphere, the staff is lovely and makes sure you feel very welcomed. Food was really great too.
