After reviewing the ratings for the Melting Wok, we decided to give it a try and ended up going there twice for dinner. The food is just yummy and is very inexpensive with good potion sizes. The owners and staff are very friendly and offer great attentive service. It is a very small, cute and clean place with approximately 8... More

a random conversation with a French couple from Mauritius sent us to try Melting Wok. We walked right past it the first time (#13 Jl. Gootama, Ubud), as it is Upstairs. Above the noisy street, there is a relaxed ambience, as you are met by the French proprietress. The cuisine is Indonesian with a French twist (and elegant presentation), and... More

We'd been meaning to try here after several trips to Ubud and reading all these rave reviews. Finally booked by email and it didnt disappoint us! From the lovely warm genuine welcome from Geraldine the owner, to the lovely waiting staff all evening, we were made to feel so welcome and relaxed. The meals and menu was clearly explained to... I came here with my husband and son. The place is so small, hard to find a car parking. I try with the main menu but not really suitable with me and just realize that the Chef is Laotians. I do not really like the main food (delicious but not my style :D) but I really fell in love with... More

The we night to the Melting Wok, I went with a friend who had raved on about this place. At the end of the night, I could see why. There had been a mini cyclone and all power was off. This didn't faze the manager or staff. There were candles everywhere which added to the ambience. We were made so... More

I had the chicken curry rice, thai cold noodles(special of the day) and crepe for desert. The food was both alright and nothing to travel for, however the dessert is excellent and is definitely worth a visit. They do not allow take-aways when the restaurant is busy, so be aware of that.

The couple who run this are a lovely Laosian chef husband and French wife who take care of front-of-house. Simple yummy good value menu of the day and great (pricey) desserts. Decent portions. Good vibes and smiling staff up for a laugh. Always busy which is a good sign if you don't trust the reviews see for yourself Situated on... More

We arrived at 9 pm. The woman who acted like the owner (caucasian) told us they were no longer taking any customers because "we don't have any tables." She didn't offer to have us wait, share a table, or return at some future time (eg half an hour). When I told her that their website notes they close at 11... More
