Friendly, authentic and delicious

We tried a lot of great restaurants in Ubud during our stay but I think Putu's Wild Ginger was by far my favourite. The food was delicious Bali home cooking and while the menu is not large, boy is it done well. This is only a small family restaurant but it has a wonderful warm and friendly... read more

I had the pleasure of dining in the restaurant twice on a recent trip to Ubud. The first night we all tried some normal menu dishes (the nasi campur mainly) and it was far and away the best food I'd had in more than a week on the island. We decided after a wonderful evening, with great service to return... More

Dear Pak Nyoman and Ibu Putu, thank you for that delicious smoked duck dinner we had at Putu’s Wild Ginger – we ate far too much but enjoyed every last bit of it. We hope that you have many visitors to this wonderful small restaurant in your home so that they can also experience what wonderful hosts and cooks you... More

Owner Nyoman is warm and friendly. The bebek betutu set dinner comes with several other dishes besides the bebek betutu. It has to be ordered a day in advance. I highly recommend the bebek betutu.

Would recommend this Warung for a good budget option. Is located off the main shopping and eat streets however this is part of the charm. The wonderful owners Nyoman and his wife Putu put a lot of love into their small restaurant and you feel this as soon as you walk in. The menu is small with good choices of... More

This Restaurant offers very good Food with good prices. I can highly recommend the Putus Goreng and the fried Banana as desert. I also like this place because it's a bit hidden with only 5 tables. The food is incrediable good. If you are in Ubud, go and eat here! Safe the location on google maps, it's easier to find... More

We went here on our last night in Ubud after seeing some great Trip Advisor ratings. They were just as expected. The place is situated off the main road, amongst some rural homes. The restaurant itself seems to be in the front of the owners house. Food: very authentic and had a lot of flavour. A must try is the... More

First off, totally worth the walk from the centre of town. It's the front of a house but is very nice and authentic. The family there is very polite and have free fast wifi. THE GUAC WITH SWEET POTATOES ARE AMAZING!! So fresh!! And try Putus special chicken! Very good and very reasonable prices. If I ever find myself back... More

I visited this restaurant back in December with a friend, and have been meaning to review ever since. It isn't along the main strip where most tourists walk so they deserve a recommendation for their delicious food tucked along a quieter street. It's a fairly small place with very very good service - we spoke to Putu about Balinese culture... More
