The home cooked indonesian food was very tasty. Menu could be a little more varied. It took us a couple attempts to find the place. It has very small signage and is on a small back road. Not open for lunch. Owned by a lovely Balinese family it is worth a visit for a quiet, friendly and tasty meal. Support... More

We found wild ginger on our last night in Bali and it was the best dinner we had for the whole trip. The hosts nyoman and putu were brilliant so friendly and welcoming and the food was so tasty and also so cheap. Will definitely be back there next trip!

This is a lovely little restaurant in Ubud. It's off the main drag, but worth the small walk out of the way. The restaurant only has 4 tables, and the restaurant is owned and run by Putu and her husband. They are a lovely couple, Putu does all the cooking, and the food is great. Putu's special sauce is indeed... More

We had to take our motorbike to Wild Ginger, it's not real central. But the place, which has few tables, is a gem nonetheless. Very good food. The Babi Cecap wasn't the usual dry sliced affair you'll often find. Instead cutlets in a very savory sauce that was done right as to spices. Everything we ordered was real good, and... More

I loved that we ate in restaurant where we could hear the dog in the back, the owner was barefoot, the tables were made of beautiful 5 inch thick slabs of reclaimed wood and the food was great. The owner kindly advised us we may want to move when a large crowd entered since he thought their smoking might bother... More

WOW! This restaurant is awesome. We felt extremely welcome by Putu and her husband. They speak good English and we managed to communicate back with a the little Malay and Indonesian that we know which was fun. We all had Putu's Special Chicken and loved it, and beer mixed with Green Sands was delicious. The restaurant is small which makes... More

We tried several of the highly rated TripAdvisor restaurants and this family run warung was definitely the highlight. A small gem down a side street. Tutus sauce, curry and fried banana were a treat. We'll be back here on our next pass thru Ubud.

This time back to Putu's we ordered the smoked duck (which is 'off the menu' and needs to be ordered 24hrs ahead). There are no words to describe how wonderful this meal was. We simply had to order our drinks and desert. The feast in between was a tremendous gastronomical experience - all fresh, uniquely Balinese food - prepared and... More
