Fantastic Warung in Ubud

Four tables, a wonderful family, great menu choices, fresh food, spiced just right. We've had a few meals their and they were great.

As soon as you arrive you are warmly greeted by Putu's husband and then Putu comes and discusses the menu with you. Putu then goes into the kitche and starts cooking! It's very small, only 4 tables with a limited menu but well worth a visit. I had the pork with Putu's special sauce and it was wonderful. Definitely recommend... More

This restaurant is a must if you visit Ubud. The small selection is great. Putu is an amazing chef. We went back a second time for the special smoked duck which you need to order 24 hours in advance and it was worth it. Also try the Ginger Fizz. A most refreshing drink and my husband's comment was that the... More

Ice cold beer, served in a chilled frosted glass - excellent start! Friendly, clean, well run, & very tasty food (though I wasn't blown away by the 'special sauce'). I'm definitely be back.

We decided on a traditional Indonesian Warung for dinner and weren't disappointed with this choice. It's a small open air restaurant, with about 7 tables. The host (sorry his name escapes me), is the husband of Putu, the very capable Chef. The menu is small but adequate and there is very much a home cooked feel to the food. We... More

This restaurant is like a little gem. Hidden in a narrow street a little outside of town centre. It is hard to say that is better here, food, atmosphere or the staff. We had here lovely dinner full of quiet whispers, something very uncommon in Indonesian encompassing noise.

What should I ask more? Out of the crazy traffic, it's a lovely place to eat carefully cooked indonesian food, served by a really kind man in a tastefull intimate environment. Big plus for this 'hidden treasure' sooo much better than the avarage restaurants in Ubud! There are only 5 tables, so get there early if you wanna get your... More

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. We loved it so much we returned for a second night of Wild Ginger's delicious food and were not disappointed. Quiet atmosphere, tucked away on a peaceful side street off of Ubud's busy Main Street. Personal attention from the staff, lovely seating and decor. The food was authentic Balinese cooking and should... More

This cozy small restaurant has an inviting decor and extremely friendly and welcoming staff and owners. We started with an appetizer of fried white sweet potatoes and the guacamole dip with fried crackers. We recommend them both. Their entrée with Putu's special sauce is a favorite and we've had it prepared with pork, chicken and tofu. All were flavorful. Don't... More
