On the way home

Flew in tonight and came back to kagemusha 6 months on while heading home. Great service as usual and tasty food. Eggplant simmered in a stock is to die for. Lovely ambiance as always. Worth. Coming for some home cooked Japanese food with great service

I have dinner with my son on June 28, 2015 and the food is still amazing. I know Kagemusha long time ago when this restaurant located at Padang Tegal, Ubud. Now they move to nyuh kuning and I miss the rice field so much. The food is real good but the view now is only small garden.......the parking for car... More

I love this place, clean simple but lovely flavors. Real earthy Japanese food that is not meant to impress but always delivers on flavor. Been in Ubud for more than 20 years so they are doing something right. Favorite dishes are eggplant with ginger and soy, eggplant with miso and for those like squid a MUST is the fried squid... We could easily have missed this restaurant if we hadn't read about it online - even though it was right next to our hotel some way out of Ubud! We're very glad we found it. The restaurant is tucked away in a rear garden which is a really lovely and peaceful place to sit. The food on offer is great.... More

The restaurant is not located on the city center, which makes it a really nice place to be. Unless recommended by a friend of ours, it is quite difficult to find because the front building looks unfinished. Only to find out that there is a small path beside it that takes to you the hidden gem. Maybe this design is... More

We walked here from the villa where we stay with friends in Nyuh Kuning. We enjoyed the changing 50,000 Rp lunch menu on a stormy afternoon. The service is at a relaxed pace, which allows for enjoying the tranquil setting. There were several Japanese couples and families eating the last time we were there, which is a good sign.

Have been a regular visitor to Kagemusha every time possible whenever I am in Ubud, but this was my first experience eating here after they moved to Nyuh Kuning. What I love most from Kagemusha is simply the calm atmosphere itself. Hence the name of 'Kagemusha' (double or shadow warrior in English), the main thing that I thought I will... More

It is a very quiet restaurant here. This is because it is far from the center. this is Japanese food. However, a visitor of much nationality enters. had impression. The owner is particular about ingredients. I ordered udon. It is the taste that is gentle by security. I like it. Try you if interested.

Sets for just 50.000 rupees. We've had kaki-age don, tempura udon and lemon juice. It was tasty and fresh. On the last menu page they put a list of products they use and if these are local or foreign products
