Consider making reservations before stopping in at Cafe Lotus. Dining around dusk will give you the ideal dining ambience. We arrived at 6 and were permitted to sit next to the pond as long as we agreed to complete our meal by 7:30 when the local show begins at the temple. We found this request to be extremely fair. The... More

We never even got to sit down, as the woman who was seating us was loudly accosted by a very perturbed apparently senior employee who said 'they can't sit here', and a loud and obnoxious argument between the two of them and a male employee ensued in front of us. We finally said 'this is ridiculous', and went to have... More

I'm not sure why this place is so popular as it is completely mediocre. There is a nice garden behind the restaurant with a view of the temple to snap a few photos, but I don't recommend eating there.

The monster flowering lotus flowers were a wonderful and peaceful outlook (diminishing the noise of the buzzing of the motor bikes and the honking of car horns which were just 20 meters from us) whilst we ate a hearty breakfast. The food was delicious and the service was quick and friendly. A true Bali eating place.

Very nice view and atmosphere restaurant in Ubud. A little expensive but good for tea.

My husband and I popped into the cafe after wandering by a few times. It looked quite nice and popular, so we went in for a drink in the late afternoon. We were greeted abruptly by staff, almost dismissed and put in a terrible table, right near the entry. We then watched and heard them being also rude to other... More

My wife & I went for a dinner, but it was fully booked. We thought if this restaurant is fully booked then it must be good so we went back the next day for lunch. Nice place. The food was average, nothing special. I had soup & noodles that was a bit dry. The service would be OK if they... More

My wife and I had the sea food meal for 2. The food was fairly good and we had the chance to eat near the lotus water garden and watch a traditional Balinese dance in the temple from a distance.

Dropped in for a small bite and was tempted by the menu. Good mix of all styles - but best of all Indonesian. Great setting and you forget the mania is just outside. Ignore the Starbucks next door and head for here. Best refreshing lime/lemon/ginger drink I have had in Ubud -and they gave you sugar syrup separately to sweeten... More

This place is a great find amidst all the tourists in central Ubud. They have cool Japanese style seating on pillows with low tables overlooking a temple & lily pad pond with pink lotus flowers. Reserve table 40 (or 39) for the closest view to the stage if you're going to eat dinner during a traditional dance show.
