Indonesian Dinner with Great Performance

We want to have nice Indonesian food and to watch local Balinese dances that Lotus Cafe is famous for. Our table is on a balcony located near the Lotus pond and dance stage which has Saraswati temple grand gateway as the backdrop. They have long list of food and recommend us for 2 food set for... read more

We actually went to the dance show at the grand palace rather than cafe lotus. After the show had finished we were looking for somewhere to eat and went in to cafe lotus just as many people were leaving after their show had finished. Unfortunately as we were only in ubud for a few days we weren't able to go... More

This restaurant was recommended to us unfortunately. We went for dinner which was tasteless and top dollar and the waiter so rude. Just ignored us cause we didn't order big. I think it is a big rip off. You can experience the traditional dance if you buy a ticket on the street for around $3.00 Australian and not have to... More

They sell good view, the lotus pond. Several food average. But babi bagus and pork ribs are very delicious. The service average, they often leave us and didn't care like other restaurant's employee. If you want to take a photo in the lotus pond, don't go in the restaurant. There is a way beside the restaurant to the lotus pond.... More

We had excellent meals the entire week in Ubud. One better than the next. This is the only place that we had an average meal. The service was very bad, and hard to get a waitress to wait on you during the Gamelan program which was also average. I would forgo this for the better places in town. Price was... More

The restaurant itself is nicely located being in just front of the Saraswati Temple and beside some ponds and a large tree. The food itself is nicely presented with a good selection although the taste is pretty mediocre. Probably suitable for the many foreign tourists who seemed to be eating here and who are less familiar with good Indonesian food,... More

We wanted to go here since its right next to the Saraswati temple. Were thinking of tea and snacks (maybe dinner if we stayed long enough). Asked the person at the front if they had many vegetarian options. he smiled and said yes. At which point the old, white (possibly owner) leaned in and asked if we're here for dinner,... More

In terms of aesthetics, the building hosting the cafe is nice and the temple behind makes for a pretty view, as does the namesake lotus pond in between the two of course. Then there's the food. Bland nasi goreng is thoroughly disappointing, so is bakso without noodles. Also, the sour faced cashier who didn't attempt to smile or say thank... More

I went to that place 4 or 5 times for lunch during my stay in Ubud. The food has always been excellent, high quality and very well presented on the plate. I must say that the view on the lotus is also very relaxing. At first I must admit the staff was nor sympathetic nor efficient, but on my subsequents... More
