Great setting with lotus flower, great view for performance, but average food with expensive drink

The cafe lotus is well known restaurant where we can also watch the traditional Balinese dance performance. We have decided to dine here as we wanted to watch the performance and have a dinner. The location is beautiful! What luck for these guys to be located here right next to a big temple and a lovely lotus pond. The food is okay It is average priced Choose to sit towards the entrance to enjoy the view of the long and the temple. It is really lovely! The service is good and efficient There is... More

Cafe Lotus features numerous seating options including tables, group areas, and dining while seated on the floor on low tables (which is what we did, with a great view of the stage). Shows start nightly around 7:30pm, and some of the better seats require separate tickets for the show (about $8 each). The restaurant surrounds a beautiful lotus pond and... More

We have been to Lotus a few times over the years, sadly the service and quality has not gone up like the prices have. You get great views from the first 2 rows of tables, which will cost you a extra 160,000rp for the front row table, and 80,000rp for the one behind, you are still a good 40mtrs from... More

We book a table with the additional charge for the show (booking is recommended). We loved the Balinese seating, the view on the lotus pond and watching the show while having dinner. Food itself was pretty good (fish) and we were happy with the wine list offering much more options than others restaurants in the area. Overall a slightly expensive... More

The view is nice. Food is terrible. Service is unfriendly. I had soup as a starter; it was cold and very bland. But I was hopeful that my main course Nasi Goreng would be good [very simple dish - what can go wrong?]; it was yet again bland, cold and the chicken sate was uncooked [raw]. Lucky that I cut... This is one of the most expensive I've visited when I was in Bali. However, the food served was really delicious and the setting of the restaurant was really amazing. The restaurant is located next to a lotus garden. Thus giving a very beautiful ambiance to dine in. Will visit this restaurant again when I'm in Bali in the near... More

Compared to other restaurants in Ubud, this was just average and not value for money. We also took in a traditional dance show after the meal and I almost fell asleep! Not sure if it was out of boredom or jet lag. The dance show is about 1.5 hours. I wd have been happy to leave after 30 minutes. Needless... More

This is a really good place to eat in Ubud. The location between Puri Lukisan museum and Ubud palace is pretty good. Food is various and a bit luxury. Probably more expensive than at other places but not too much. Traditional dances can bee seen directly from the restaurant, a little bit far though.

A busy place in high season due to the fact the location doubles as a viewing platform for ceremonial dances. The food is good, the venue is good, but the service leaves a bit to be desired. What does add to the experience is the nightly traditional Balinese dance that takes place right next to the restaurant. If you want... More
