Bad tuna steak

Ordered the tuna steak with sambal matah. Asked how I wanted the steak, I ordered medium & it came well done & very thin. 'nuff said.

the food is one of the best in Ubud that we ever have. The restaurant has a very good view of a pond and temple. The food is very delicious. We ordered sea food nasi goreng and sambal prawn. We spent about 254k with lassi mix fruit and mixed juice.

After visiting the nearby busy monkey-forest we were ready for a quiet place to enjoy our lunch. The Lotus Garden was a perfect place for that. The cafe itself was not very interesting and too spacious for my taste, but the setting was stunning with two lotus ponds and a dark beautiful temple in the background. The staff was very... More

I liled to location of this cafe because you could watch the danceshow while eating. The food wasnt so tasty for the price though. Rice not cooked enough and the rest was also just okay. Wouldnt really go back there. Staff were polite and friendly though

We had been there to have food on 14th feb 2015 but to our shock we discovered how unhygenic there kitchen would be. We ordered four dishes and to our horror we discovered a large number of ants floating in the food they served in one of the dishes. The light there is quite dim, however we were able to... More

Part of the charm for Lotus Cafe is the garden and the elaborate entrance to a state owned temple which the owner told us is opened only on selected days for official visits. We shared a Balinese set between the two of us and ended with a goring pisang dessert that was perfectly done... The Balinese set came with yellow... More

The Cafe Lotus is in a lovely setting and if you are lucky you will get a front row table overlooking the lily pond and temple. We had coffee and spring rolls. The rolls were mostly cabbage but the coffe was wonderful, the staff attentive and pleasant, and we weren't rushed. Ironically there is a Starbucks right next door and... More

This was my 7th visit to Lotus over about 20 years and my least favourite of all. The setting is absolutely stunning but the menu and food left a bit to be desired this time. My seafood spring rolls were really bland but the pork ribs were delish! It just didn't deliver in the way that I've come to expect,... More

Cafe Lotus will be recommended to you by everyone in Ubud- the reality being that none of the hotel staff/ drivers etc, have eaten there. Upon arriving I was amazed by the temple and lilypads- but the food was unclean and not fresh- my coke was opened at the counter (beware of this) - Bali Belly lives here.

4 for surroundings, 3 for food, 2 for value. Watching the palace is amazing, the staff is friendly and the food was OK. But you obviously pay a bit more for the location.
