I have been traveling here with my family for the last 10 years and we always have made a stop at the Sanur branch ( back then it was the only one) Stopped in 3 weeks ago, all the old staff has left since a year ago when I visited. I ordered the Rogan Josh, my favorite, it arrived cold,... More

Though they are pricey, but their Mutton Biryani and Chicken Tandoori was grrreat. Tender meat and tasty biryani, perfect.

Ordered delivery to my hotel as it was raining. Delivery was quicker at 15 minutes than the expected 30. We ordered Mutton Masala, Spinach Paneer and some Naan - tasted not too far from Indian food we are used to eating though price wise it was expensive at IDR230k approx. Can't comment on the place itself but food wise, the... More

I guess no one really knows how to cook Indian in Bali. We ordered 6 Aloo Paranthas and after taking forever to cook them, you could not find the Aloo(Potato) stuffing with even a microscope. Also the heat in the restaurant will make you feel like you are sitting inside a Tandoor. Fail.

In my opinion not that great. I had the Vindalo curry my friends had a chicken curry and a mutton curry, yellow rice.Plus cheese nans. It was edible but not outstanding and I was a bit worried about my health after looking at the table cloth and my chair, so I suppose I didn’t enjoy it as much as I could... More

I was surprised to see a certificate in the restaurant that claimed that they've been awarded the best Indian restaurant award(in 2012 if I'm not wrong). The quality of food in the restaurant didn't match those claims at all. The ambience is ok, but the taste of food was not that great. The naans were too greasy and 2 different... More

Compared with the current price level in Bali/Sanur, Gateway of India offers very little for a high price. The food is rather expensive but OK, and I would maybe consider to order take away some other time. This however leads to the core of why I think Gateway of India is too expensive: The atmosphere is terrible. The staff were... More

The portions for all the dishes we ordered were small to average, though prices overall were high for this area. For example, one of the dishes we ordered was the mutton briyani, which was tasty but had only a small portion of mutton, and mostly rice.

We had lunch here today. Both of us thought the food was pretty good and the staff friendly and quick to respond to any needs or wants. The restaurant is really, really tired looking and that spoils the experience a bit. Two curries (chicken vindaloo and veg), rice pilau and condiments cost us $17.00 in total.

We had seen other reviews of this restaurant on TA so thought we'd try it. It was great. Plenty of vegetarian options plus meat options. The service was great, the food was delicious with generous sized serves. My husband has already decided he is going back for their Butter chicken tomorrow! We will visit this restaurant again while we are... More
