This is a very interesting cafe/restaurant. It has a vegatarian card and also many ayurveda items. There is also a shop with nice gifts and clothes. The owners are idealistic and very friendly. A pity that they have no eggs in the restarant, but it seems to be like vegarian here don't eat eggs...

Aum cafe was not open when we went at 7pm. Quite disappointed as we had wanted to have a rest after walking a long way along the ghats. It's in a narrow alleyway, walking up from Assi Ghat.

It's a clean place which is a good change of pace for Varanasi, but the food isn't anything special. Not a bad meal, but definitely not the 4th best restaurant in Varanasi.

There is nothing posh or elegant to be found at Aum Cafe- BUT - the food is tasty, safe, inexpensive and the setting is calm. If you've been in U.P. for a while, these three factors mean a lot! Yes there are lots of westerners who eat here, but that's because it is one of the very few places to... More

Horrible coffee (tasted like dirt) and the pancakes were disgusting (tasted like mold)...I don't know why people think the food is so good (gross!) But the people were nice...otherwise totally disappointed.

I am truly sorry you had food at Aum Cafe' that did not live up to our standards and reputation, after investigation....Sangeeta had a family emergence and left the Cafe( for 30 min.) in the hands of our 3 employees, one having been with us for 5 years...I am sure they tried their best....but not to our standards....I think the... We chose this because of the excellent trip advisor reviews. While the food was fresh , the space is very ordinary and underwhelming. Customers all western tourists. Disappointing.

The place is quite hot in the afternoons, but worth it because that's the only place you'll find nice fresh salads that are properly cleaned. Prices are a bit on the high end but well worth it. Tried the pasta, hummus and salads. All were above average. Pasta for 140-160 rupees and salads for about the same price. However it... More
