We first came across this semi-hidden eating destination just as the heat and calls of "Durggaaa" were beginning to get to us. From the outside, the archway hide most clear signs that we were entering a restaurant, but upon entry we discovered that this small outside cafe was nestled away next to a quaint and forgotten temple. We were greeted... More

Wow this place is a little haven, we went here three times whilst in Varanasi, laid back, decent tasty food, staff were pleasant, really enjoyed just chilling out here. Would recommend.

This is not a place to expect great service or consistently good food. Previous reviews tell me it once was a great cafe but now the painted over pillars will tell you of the lost aesthetic as well as the poor service. I think the staff was stoned which is why they were forgiven for being so sullen. Most people... More

really a grave disappointment. lost its charm in one year. new owners haven't a clue as to how to run a restaurant . Waitress walks by, looks & walks on. Stands in service area w/ blank stare. new customers come in, she lools & does nothing.

Great ambience + awesome food + top class service sums up Phulwari. We bumped into this place while walking aimlessly from Godowlia. Once you enter the place, it seems to be a world away from the noise outside at the Godowlia Chowk. We ended up having dinner at Phulwari on 2 consecutive nights. Ganesh- the chef at Phulwari is an... More

A great place to sit! 30 meters north from Godulia (main crossing), but incredibly quiet, sweet, and peaceful. It changed a bit recently- the garden has been covered with a roof, but it is nice- protection from the sun and the rain and the monkeys! There is one cook there, Mr. Ganesh, and he's just great. So long as he's... More

This place is really nothing special. There was hardly any customers but service was very slow - from getting the menus right through to getting the bill. Only had toasted sandwiches and drinks but very average food. The chips came considerably before our sandwiches, the sandwiches were lukewarm even though we saw them coming out of the oven 5 minutes... More
