A nice cafe, with good food and drinks. They have wifi that you can use if you purchase something. Also a nice shop with mostly locally made items that are great for gifts (including stationary if you want it!).

This is a cool, calm place and full of delicious food! It provided a small piece of quiet from the hustle and bustle of varanasi's relentless hawkers, ricks haws and tuk tuks! The food is very European as mentioned in other reviews but it's done well. The coffisch is sublime, imagine the culinary love child of a smooth dark Italian... More

The food and beverages here are delicious- try the apple and chilli juice, as well as the ginger spritzer. The coffee is also the best we found in India! The menu is mainly European, a great choice for breakfast/brunch/if you're craving cake or a club sandwich.. Really good quality and excellent service from friendly staff. A bonus is the cleanest... Great location near Assi Ghat. Only tried the desserts and coffee. Very pretty, but didn't taste like carrot cake! Service was friendly, but lakadaisical and slow. Sat on the porch and watched Banares go by. Nice spot. Found lots of extremely overpriced merchandise for sale. Sadly, the NGO crowd seems to use this as wifi central, so it has the... More

Delicious, well priced, cosy, friendly staff... what more could you ask for? Plus, add the fact that the menu offers a great variety of original items (Ginger Chille Wake Up Drink) and coffee that would satisfy even the pickiest of java lovers, you can't really go wrong... Pancakes are a must!!

I recommend you to spend your time in this cafe shop. They have a nice menu and specially they can make a real cafe. Speed of WiFi is damn good. The employees have good attitude and indeed you can enjoy from the AC in hot seasons. "Cleanliness" is another point of Open Hand.

I've been coming to Open Hand since 2006. Their menu hasn't changed much since then, and that's not a bad thing: they serve a mix of Indianish, food and Euro-American fare. Their coffee is the best I've ever found in Varanasi: and I've looked plenty over the year plus I've lived here. The space is comfortable, clean and pretty, with... More

In the land of chai sometimes this loaded question. When the answer comes back Nescafé you know you're in trouble. And thus it's a double + good day when you find a café that serves good French press coffee and exceptional espresso. They have delicious food to boot! All this In an impeccably well kept and attractively designed 2nd floor... More
