This place was so good we came here twice and got takeaway for the night train! A true family enterprise with delicious food (especially the tibetan bead with banana and honey) and friendly, welcoming people. I think the prices are worth it for the experience and change to regular Indian cuisine. A lovely odd mishmash of cultures, very refreshing.

Lovely little place which as others have said is a godsend if you're looking for a change from Indian food. The menu is good if a little random, the family who run the restaurant are very welcoming and friendly. It's prettily lit rooftop dining area helps you escape the noise of the city.

I liked the idea of this - a family run restaurant, and was greeted warmly upon our arrival. The family was pleasant and polite, however service was minimal as we had to write down our orders, and add any extra items at the end. The food came in small portions and was considerably over priced- to the extent we decided... More

During our 6 week backpacking trip to india, our meal at el parador was the highlight of our trip. The food was delicious. It was nice to take a break from the standard indian cuisine. El Parador's international menu has something to please everyone. You can see right into the kitchen and watch the family come together to cook your... More

Firstly, this is in one corner of the town - unless someone takes you there, next to impossible to reach it. Rs. 700 for 2 plates of chicken momo is a king's ransom! I have never heard of anything more absurd. The momos were pretty average too - you'll get better momos anywhere at 25% of the price. The soup... More

First of all reaching there was a bit of a problem. On first day I could not find it but later I found it with the help of the owner, he is really very cooperative person and talks pleasantly. Since drizzling was going on hence I preferred seating inside, also there were no other guests in the restaurant apart from... More

El Parador is simple family run restaurant with great food, it is unlike the commercial big fancy restaurants in a touristic place. The menu is pretty much international, if you’re on holiday in India and are bored of the curries and craving some home food like steaks, pastas or some continental food, this is the place to be. It is... More

I visited El Parador many times during my stay in Varanasi. What a wonderful family and good hosts. They hosted a birthday party for Kay a lady from our tour group. They did their own baking and served a wonderful meal. I enjoyed their kindness and hospitality. May the good Lord bless your travel. Ken Fabbi (Canada)

El Parador was absolutely fantastic!! Delicious food, super friendly owners, and a thoroughly pleasant environment - once my husband and I found El Parador, we kept coming back for more. It was truly an oasis in what was - for us - a culturally shocking yet rewarding experience in Varanasi.

We have been in India for 3 months now and we travelled a lot, but this place is by far the best restaurant we came accross. We were here yesterday and tried the water buffalo steak that turned out to be terrific. Tonight we decided to come back to celebrate the end of our holiday. We just ordered cheese nachos... More
