Executive chef Vickey made our two meals in his restuarant memoral because he really cares. I told him a dish I wanted which was not on the menu. He asked what was in the dsh as he had not cooked it before . What he made was even better than the original. This is fine Inian cuisine. Do not... read more

We decided to dine in since we were staying at the hotel. Our dinner was delicious. Vickey the executive chef shared the recipe for the super saag paneer, which we cooked today in NY :-) The service was outstanding but the restaurant was empty and felt a little bit sad. The cafe next door was hopping and we wished we... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and our experience at Esphahan at the Oberoi in Agra. The venue, food and service were all exquisite and we can't recommend it too highly.

Amazing food, beautifully presented, outstanding decor, fantastic and quiet live music, excellent service, outstanding wine list, etc. It was a wonderful experience. And, at Indian prices, not nearly as pricey as it would be in the USA. Go there! Reservations are required. Dress nicely.

We made reservations a month in advance so that we and our friends could snag a table at Esphahan, in the ultra elegant Oberoi Hotel in Agra. The main draw was the view of the Taj Mahal from the outdoor patio and the 24 hour simmered lamb. We also enjoyed the Prawns, a south Indian dish. Beyond the atmosphere and... More

Stayed at the hotel and was planning on dining out, however after eating the tandoor tikka and naans, as well as the black dhal the first night, we opted to come back the 2nd and it did not disappoint. Admittedly the tandoori prawns did seen much fresher the first night, but after as suing our waiter they promptly replaced this... More

Very nicely decorated (as always at Oberoi) indian restaurant: traditional cuisine, perfectly executed and with some imaginative add-ons. Among the best curries we had during 2 weeks stay in India and by far the best service we have experienced in a while. All was good, so difficult to recommend specific dishes but sharing allows to try more !

The Hotel Oberoi Amarvilas is actually well worth seeing in itself, and perhaps second only to the Taj itself in a city with little to offer otherwise - at least foodwise. This is one of Oberoi's two restaurants, the Indian one, not the Continental. It is a great "excuse" to see the hotel and a great place in itself. It... More
