Wonderful food, good service and no regrets. Ok, it did not look like the, "Taj Mahal" but it is in the same neighborhood: Easy to get to and worth returning for. During our entire vacation we ate rather simply, but even the small dishes at this restaurant were brought to our table with eligance and decor.

My wife and I were visiting Agra and the Taj Mahal for the day through an organised excursion. The Silk Route was the restaurant that was selected by the tour operator for lunch. The place is downstairs in a rather soulless basement with a 1970's decor in creamy white and zero atmosphere at least at lunch time. The service was... More

As recommended by our driver, my husband and I came to this restaurant for dinner. Our waiter was lovely. Very attentive and professional. The food, especially the curry, was the most authentic I had during our entire trip. Although it does seem a little over priced, I was very happy with the food. The highlight of the evening was their... More

We had a good meal here. We tried the Kababs and the Royal Murgh Makhani. They specialise in Mughal cuisine so that's what we opted for. There was a singer providing live music. The décor is a bit lacking and the room was cavernous. There were not that many people having dinner there so all in all it lacked atmosphere.

after visiting the Taj; you can have a wonderful lunch or dinner at the Silk Route. they have some traditional live music playing (singer playing on tabla) in the background. the food is really good and it's a safe option to try any veg or non-veg item.

We took a thali and it was delicious. Enjoyed the good food, there was also local music being played by a solitary singer with his own tabla, which was a nice addition.

We were staying at the Howard Plaza and were scouting for a restaurant for lunch, when we stumbled upon the Silk Route restaurant right opposite the Hotel. It looks very demure from the outside, and its quite likely that one may miss it. We stepped in without too much expectation which was strengthened by its boring and plain interiors. Its... More

Before visiting, we saw many reviews saying how good the toilets were!! Who cares! It's great that it has good toilets but its the food I care about! Agra has a lot of mediocre restaurants or over price hotel restaurants. This restaurant doesn't look much from the outside and it's fairly minimalistic inside but it's very clean and the food... We had good Indian food here. The restaurant was clean (including the restrooms) and well-decorated. The service was good. This place will not knock your socks off, but you can get a good meal here at a reasonable price.
