Velu’s Biriyani ( NOT VENU) is one of the best places to eat biriyani in Madurai. The food is delicious, the service is good and the standard of cleanliness is better in comparison to other restaurants in Madurai. However, I have also visited another one in Kalavasal. At first sight it may not seem great. Even the A/C room is... More

Actually the name was Velu's Briyani. Food was tasty. Service was excellent. The restaurant was reasonably hygienic. Food was served on a plantain leaf. Complete tab for 4 people was less than Rs 1000 ($20).

The Briyani served was authentic Dindigul Briyani with its traditional taste and flavour and texture. Briyani rice is so special and not the usual basmati rice. something different that can be enjoyed

Firstly I would like to mention the place is "Velu`s Biryani" not Venu. So outsiders, please ask for the correct place to find it quickly. I had Chiken biryani here, decently good enough, worth the price. But if you are busy and could not make to this place, you have not missed anything. The staff is very good, polite and... More

Venu's Biriyani has its own taste of Biryani. It is made of small rice which adds flavour to the Biryani. Now, the additional dishes that are being served like Fish Fry, Chicken 65, Nethili Fry are the best among the Total recipes in Venu's Biriyani.

Great Spicy and good variety of Non Veg Food available. Madurai has very few Non Veg joints so this was a welcome change. I was staying on the Hotel just opposite to this Hotel and had come just to check it out. The food is very moderately priced and actually tastes good.

Before starting i think the name is Velu Briyani and not Venu briyani. The taste is top in its class. Please try this if u like some spicy food and definitely a non-vegetarian. Though you cant expect the ambiance to be like a star hotel but you get a decent A/C dining hall. Most of the non veg menus are... More

We came to know about Dindigul's Venu Biriyani through our cab driver and he took us straight to the Venu's Biryani. The place is big and busy. They serve on Banana leaves and service is pretty fast. The Mutton biryani is served in half or full plate and half plate is quite enough for one but not enough for one's... More
