Food was straightforward, Indian and well spiced. Portions were generous and the service attentive and discrete.

I had a mutton biryani - good value and nice ambience overlooking the lake. The best meal in Udaipur that I had was at Ambrai, but this place is still a nice alternative.

Our group of four ate here tonight. Great view but the same is true for many neighbouring restaurants. Most of the food was OK but the mutton rogan gosht and chicken with spinach were chewy. Service seemed rather surly and uninterested.

Dinner at Jagat Niwas was one of the best parts of our trip. The view from the restaurant is breathtaking, especially at sunset. The food was delicious and the price was reasonable. Service was good as well. We sat at bed-like table that had open windows all around and a panoramic view of the lake. Make a reservation and ask... More

Just next door to my hotel, the Jagat Niwas restaurant was a great find. Everything about it was superb. The staff were good fun, informative and offered us a great service on both occasions that we ate there. The food that we had was some of the tastiest that we experienced on our trip, and I would thoroughly recommend a visit.... More

This well-located hotel along the water’s edge has a good kitchen (if you avoid the `Rajasthani specialties’, which were well below the standard we had in Dungarpur) and aren’t in a hurry. Service is slow - although it got quite snappy when, after waiting 20 min for the check, we stood up to leave. The regular Indian dishes were very... More

We ate several meals there - breakfasts and a dinner. Service was always very slow. Staff just did not seem to want to put much effort into providing good service. Food was OK. View from roof was fantastic.

We went to Jagat Niwas to have dinner as it was recommended by many people. But as it turned out these people don't have etiquette to treat its guest in the first place. There is a guy in moustache standing on the entrance of restaurant who didn't even care to say hello and turned us down for dinner as we... More

Great food, great service, great view and great place. Absolutely delightful. I would recommend it to everybody and I would go back again for sure. The staff is helpful and they adapted the dish to my lactose-free requests, which isn't always implied in many places.

This hotel is more up market than it's sister in Bundi. We found the meal very good but more expensive than most other places we had eaten. Lovely view over the lake but so have other resturants.
