Good Food...Great Ambience and Location

Food was good. The location and the view of the Lake Pichola from the restaurant is really awesome. Loved it absolutely.

We had dinner once, during our stay. what impressed us the most was the expanse and the beautiful arched windows. we opted to sit by the window overlooking the lake. The food was good. the view was the best:)

We came here quite late for diner, with no reservation and they kindly found us a table. The setting is absolutely beautiful, roof top terrace overlooking the lake. The food is exquisite, this is where we had our best meal in India, I would specially recommend the Lal maas (Lamb cooked in a rich gravy sauce) which was to die... More

Was there for dinner only. Well appointed hotel. Be prepared to climb a lot of stairs. Great views of Pichola lake but food was average. Service was helpful.

As backpackers this place was a little upmarket for us to stay in, but it looked amazing. We decided to go for a birthday meal there instead and the views and food were amazing. It was very pricey for a beer/cocktail, and the food was a little pricey. The place however is good for a backpackers treat, and very suitable... More

We also stayed at the hotel. The food here was excellent. I remember seeing a review once about some neon light that detracted from the experience but, if it was ever present, it is not so now. Moderate cost, high quality. Local specialties as well as standard dishes.

Really good food in amazing location - The breakfast menu is really nice, as is dinner. During both of these the sunrise and sunset is amazing. Book ahead to get the rooftop terrace for dinner!

If you're staying at Jagat Niwas then you'd definitely eat here. Beautiful view over lake Pichola, terrific food with a few different options to other places on our trip ("handi" dish was very tasty). Cold beer, good service, ticks all the boxes.

This rooftop restaurant and its indoor section both have fabulous views of the lake. Some patrons desiring a Raja-style dinner reclined along the low cushioned platforms along the wall. The candlelit tables increased the romance immeasurably. For food you couldn't go wrong. Portions were so large I'd recommend ordering one dinner and a couple of sides and splitting the whole...
