terrible is the word and pricey is the food. poor service with a fantastic german name but no way to fit the german name. avoid until very very hungry and cant find anything.
Great fried dahl, bubbly owner, great location, makes one feel at home. He can organise anything for you and his bikes are the lest expensive in town and has a good range of them.
Cakes were good especially the lemon and chocolate pastries. Cannot say the same about the coffee which was barely an OK. Did not try the croissants though they were selling it aplenty. In a nutshell, nice to see an authentic bakery in Jaisalmer.
Ok, I visited the outlet which is right at the Jaisalmer fort entrance and am made to understand that its an offshoot of the one right outside the fort at Gopa Chowk. The kids tried the lemon and chocolate pastries and they were huge in size and absolutely tasty and fairly similar to the taste of the same anywhere else... More
The cakes here are fabulous - honey nut cake was my favourite. The staff are very nice too. The coffee though was totally disgusting, despite opting for 'real coffee'. But definitely go for the cakes and if you don't have time to hang around, get a take away, as they will wrap it in tin foil for you.
This friendly little cafe/ Internet cafe/ bike hire place just outside the first gate into the firt is a treat. I have been indulging in the peanut cookies every day for the past week. Almond ones are pretty damned good as well. Chocolate croissants and a few other delights available. Check it out I re kon!
I tried choco banana pie..it was very fresh and nice..its better to either take the pastry as take away or sit inside the shop as the sitting which is outside is not that comfortable...planning to go there again :)
Nice freshly made cakes and pretty good coffee but prefer 'take away' because the outside sitting area is realy uncomfortable and you keep getting hassled by people selling jewlery and kids asking you to buy them biscuits. And theres no shade. Inside is a little noisy because of the internet but overall the food and bevrages are really quite good.
What are the chances that one ends up eating one of the best croissant ever in a small germany bakery, half of which is also an internet cafe owning a total of 3 desktops, in a place like Jaisalmer. Well its possible at Joshi. Set in a busy market place, this bakery offers not only amazing croissants, but also the... More
