Fantastic cafe

Been dining here for years. It's a must stop for breakfast every trip to Alto/Ruidoso...and lunch if we're lucky. "Cafe" is the perfect term for this small diner. The owners built the furniture and will most likely be in the kitchen cooking or at your table taking orders. They may even show you... read more

Every time I visit Ruidoso I know a sure place where I'm not going to be desapointed. Staff is friendly. They are quick and wait time is good. Coffee is great and the breakfast is a good size for the kiddos. They ate every single crum. Good value for the amount of food.

Good ol classic breakfasts here or a good lunch buffet, fast, easy and friendly. Meat smoked there on sight and very good!

Meet your Hunting Guide for lunch because this is where they will be eating. Horse trail guides or photos of Deers killed past and present. Local people with great food. Ps you will need a nap after walking out this place. The Cowboy Bibles are Free!

Wonderful food, service, and friendly too. Only open for breakfast or lunch and there are specials during the weekdays. Lots of locals eat here too!

The breakfast here at the cafe is good, nice portions , and reasonably priced. Bring your appetite if you order the biscuit and gravy (big biscuit), fantastic huevos rancheros, delicious pancakes. Nothing fancy just good food .

We usually love going to the Alto Cafe for breakfast, however, I think the Chef missed his mark this morning. We love the juevos rancheros but I think something was missing from the green chili sauce today. The eggs, home fries (had to request those), and pinto beans were good, but the green chili sauce was anything but what it... More

Our group went for fish and they had a run on it and had to cook more. Not enough vegetables and short on everything. Food was good, what there was.

My kids and I were lucky enough to stumble across the Alto Cafe yesterday for a late lunch. The place was full of locals (always a good sign) and we received a very warm greeting when we walked in. They have a lunchtime buffet, with a rotating menu, that seemed to be very popular. We ordered off of the menu-... More
