The traditional idly, dosai and the meals are the best in town. The only drawback was lot of times there would be a long line waiting for a table outside the dining area upstairs.... More

We ate here with our small tour group at the suggestion of our local guide (Ariya Niwas is also recommended in the Lonely Planet - Kerala) and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their choice of meal. Easy to understand why it gets so many good reviews.

Since I visit Kerala and stay in Varkala often, I take the train a lot. Some work in Trivandrum and my favorite coffee/tea seller is there (Sankers), so this place is a must-do whenever I'm down there (a few times a week at least). I take fellow travelers there often too and have always had excellent experiences at Arya Nivas.... More

The location of the restaurent is excellent. It is very near to the KSRTC bus stand and Railway station and it's on the very way-side. I will rate it as the best vegetarian restaurent in the city on the basis of the food served. But the ambience: there is much to be improved. Almost all kind of south-indian vegetarian dishes... Great food. Clean ambiance. Prompt service. One of my favorite places at Trivandrum. Only limitation I can think of - Parking space is a little difficult
