Hats off to the incredible spiral architecture of Indian cofee house trivandrum. the very first thought that rushes to the mind might be " If i slip, won't i go all the way down". But once you get in, all the doubts are laid to rest. the thickly crowded cafeteria is a personal favorite of mine. T you can see... More

The unique architecture of this restaurant from outside would attract any new traveler in Trivandrum, and when one enters, the extra-ordinary spiral-ascending seating arrangement should be the most entertaining factor to experience. Otherwise the interior, service and food is like most other Indian Coffee Houses across India, with decent food that fits everyone's pocket with laid back service.

"If they drop stuff, does it go rolling all the way down?" might be one of the first questions that come to your head as you sit watching the waiters scurry up and down the spiral skeleton of the Indian Coffee House. It's right next to the Thampanoor bus stand and through the small gaps in the red brick wall,... More

Located directly across the street from the railway station, this interesting coffee shop is unique in experience and architecture. We arrived when it was very busy and were directed to share a table. However, the place quickly emptied out and we got our own table. We ordered puri and masala dosa along with juice and coffee. The coffee was acceptable,... More

The Indian Coffee House was started by the Coffee Board, but now it's run by a co-operative society of the employees & so we can say the original pomp & splendour gone. It's a boon for the middle class & the food catered is value for money. The layout o this place is along an upward spiral with each table... More

The Indian Coffee Home in Trivandrum is one of the most unusual structures I have come across - the layout of this place is along an upward spiral with each table stacked neatly on one side as you climb up and up and up. While the food was undoubtedly top quality, the ambience was unusual enough to warrant this review:-)

As many have stated, for it's spiral architecture, this place is unique in India, probably the world, on that basis it's worth a visit alone. However the food is poor, hygiene suspicious and the waiters overworked and unfriendly. It's a shame as it could be so much more. I'd recommend visiting but only for a tea, the coffee is awful,... Very original design (spiral-scale buildings), great location near the Train station and Bus stand, good value for money. The food is ok.

The ‘India Coffee House’ was started by the COFFEE BOARD in early 1940s, during the British rule. In the mid 1950's the Board closed down several Coffee Houses in different cities throughout India. At that time the Board had decided to dismiss the employees. A large number of employees lost their jobs. That was a turning point, the well known... More

Have been there a dozen times over the years, just a quick walk from the railstation, but food is bad, the place isn't very clean (even for India standards) and the coffee? Oh my, not good. Awful actually. I HATE leaving bad reviews, but consistently the experience was embarrassing. Not sure about the other chains, but this Indian Coffee House... More
