Our Favourite Restaurant in Thekkady

Our group consisting of 2 couples arrived in Thekkady at around lunchtime and after we settled our things at the hotel went out to find a place to eat. At one point in a narrow street a man was waiving to us and inviting us to go down to his restaurant, and we did. Mr Senraj, the owner of the... read more

Great food in this unpretentious little cafe - excellent prawn curry. As another reviewer commented, it does seem to cater mainly to westerners, but good fun - ask for the special tea!

This was actually said by another guest - the café has no licence so beer is served in a teapot! You ask for 'special tea'. I think this is the novelty selling point for the place as practically all the clientele there when we visited (as recommended by our driver) were Westerners. Having said that the food was extremely good,... More

This small restaurant serves both Indian and Chines dishes as well as sandwiches and pasta's. We ate here theee times and each time the food was excellent. Everything is fresh and restaurant is very clean. Service is fast and efficient. Would recommend it!

Our driver took us (a family of four) to this restaurant for dinner. It looks very anonymous but the food is excellent and the service is really good. The garlic naan bread is to die for - don't miss it! We went back for lunch the following day and tried out some more dishes, and we give them all our... More

This little restaurant is down a lane-way and is nothing special in terms of decor or ambiance but the food is good and so is the service. My friend and I shared crab and coconut curry, paneer in a tomato gravy and butter dahl with boiled rice - all delicious. I then had a banana pancake and my friend had... More

Had to run away from the incessant rain and our local driver took us to this place. Look simple but have good choise including tandoori dishes.
